HPT's can detect the pregnancy hormone usually if it is anything above 25. Since HCG levels are supposed to double every 24-72 hours it shouldn't take too long to get a positive after you miss your period if you are having a normal pregnancy. Anything under 5 is considered "not pregnant" by the medical community. It is possible to be one of the people where HCG can just not be detected in urine at any point of the pregnancy. It is VERY rare for that to happen but it does once in a great while. What I would do is maybe get a blood test since that will be able to let you know for sure if you have any HCG in your system at all.
I took 9 negative hpt i went to the docs and had a negative urine test there....it was only until i had a blood test did it come back positive....(my level was only at 4, so I have no idea if it was a true positive) but anyhow, all and all I did have a false negative...when was the last time you tested?
