false posative test?
i posted last week that i had a faint bfp on a $ store hpt and then i took a frer in the morning and it was a bfn. so i waited a few days and tested again and i had another faint bfp. all in all i had 3 faint bfp. then i started bleeding and i assumed it was my af. but this does not explain my bfp. so im very confused if i was pregnant and my bleeding was a m/c or if its possable that something else could have triggered the hpt. does anyone know what can couse a false posative? any help here would be greatly appreciated!
It sounds like a chemical pregnancy to me,alot of women get faint positive before there period,then there period arrives this is very common,i would agree with you go to your doctors,best of luck..
yes my bleeding has stopped but i keep waiting for it to reappear. i guess i am gonna have to call my dr. i think maybe a blood test will me streighten this out!
I agree with ziggysgrl. I would call your doc but I know a lot of women do bleed and have their peroids throughout pregnancy! Good Luck and keep us posted!
if you are still getting BFP's...I would call ur doc. Has your bleeding slowed down or stopoped? from what I understand about chemical pregnancies, they usually wont show positive anymore once you start bleeding, but I could be wrong..I did a lot of research on it with this pregnancy because I had a non stop brown discharege for weeks, but everything still turned out fine. good luck to you.
yes my first faint pos. was from a $ tree test, so i went out and bought a frer test and had a faint one on that also. and then another, after that i started bleeding. well anyhow, i just tested again and i have another faint pos. it appeared right away. i dont have to squint or move the test around to see it. so im just confused...
I just wanted to add also, you said you had a faint positive, technically if im not mistaken with the $tree ones, doesnt it say the control line should be dark and the test line should be equal or greater than it. I may be wrong but i dont recall it saying you can get a positive with a faint control line. I may be wrong but i thought that is what i gathered from the instructions. And if it was a positive, like ziggy said it couldve been a chemical pregnancy. The only thing that could shed a little light on what is going on is if you wouldve gotten a blood test to see if there was actaully any hcg levels in your blood. Keep us informed on what happens
no i havent tested again since i started bleeding but im going to maybe today. i have thought about it being a chemical pregnancy also. i had a m/c back in nov.and then 4 months later i had gotten pregnant again but the dr. said it was a blighted ovum. now here it is 4 months later again. im starting to feel its just a cycle my body goes thru! last night when bf and i where bding, i started bleeding againg(sorry tmi!) then this morning its gone again... i just dont know what to think.
it is possible that you had a chemical pregnancy. they are very very common, but most people don't even realize they are happening because you just get your normal period(and unless you are TTC and testing early most people don't test early enough to pick it up).....basically what it is is when the egg fertilizes but not in the same way it would if it were to turn into an actual baby, and your body just flushes it out. that's usually what causes what people think are "false positives" because your body will produce very small amount of HCG that early tests can pick up, but then you will start bleeding like a normal period and the tests will be negative again. Have you tested since you started bleeding?? it could be that maybe you are pg and just bleeding..some people do that. I would prob take another test to see what it says, and maybe give your doc a call. Good Luck!
everyone says false positives are rare but to tell u the truth i have had 10 in the last 7 years....and so far there is nothing wrong with me to cause the false bfp's when i got preggo with my son my dh took me to the clinic for a urine test and on the same day he made me go to my obgyn for a blood test and both were positive so he was finally happy that it wasn't false bfp that time!
no, actually for two days it was heavier than normal. no clots or anything. and i was more crampy than normal. then yesterday and today there was very light bleeding but for hours ive had nothing. normally my af lasts anywhere from 11-14 days (annoying as that is!) but ive had two m/c before and i cant say its anything like that either! im just very confused. i think i am gonna retest again. and maybe even a couple of times threw the month just to see if maybe something else is causing it.
