feeling guilty

I am 23 weeks pregnant and I'm really emotional as it is. But lately I have been feeling guilty. My cousin who I am really close with just found out she is pregnant. She was probably about 5 weeks.  She just found out she is having a misscarriage and it would be her 2nd one due to her blood type. I'm feeling guilty because I am able to carry babies and she can't. & she is like a sister to me. I feel so stressed out about it & I hate to see her suffer like this. Her blood type is A -. If anyone has any advice if would be greatly appericated :) xo

Thanks you guys :) so my baby will be okay then? My body won't attack the baby before I get the shot?

I like the advice kidashcart gave you. Staying positive and grateful for your gift of carrying children. We should all do that! I have a buddy who hasn't been able to conceive. At first I was really nervous around her. Then we sat down and talked about it. She said, "include me". It was powerful to hear that. She said all of her family and friends with children shy away from her instead of including her. I asked her to do my pregnancy photos. She also helped throw my shower. She spends lots of time with my son and it really seems to be healing for her. Talk with your cousin and ask her how you can help her. She may surprise you. :)

You're suppose to get it after a m/c or around 20 some weeks I think.

When did you get the rogam shot? I have to get that shot too apparently and want to know if the doctor is giving it to me on time.

I agree with the above post. Having a negative blood type does not cause mc's. I am b- and miscarried my first but it was due to something chromosomal. I received the rhogam after I had my d&c and have carried this pregnancy with no problems....in fact it's been a breeze! Haven't felt pregnant or had symptoms at all. I Would definately suggest having her changing to a dr that will give her answers she deserves!

Do you want advice on what you can do? As a woman who has had miscarriages, I think I just want pregnany mommies to be thankful and feel blessed. Its hard to have a miscarriage and see someone you know loathe their pregnancy or complain openly as if its not special.
And... you can always pray for her! :)

She needs rogam. I am rh negative. I had a misscarriage in 09 and didn't see a dr or anything then. I got pregnant for the second time in 11 and all most lost my little guy when iwas about 9 weeks. A stressful night at the er ended with me getting a rogam shot and now baby and me are both healthy at 23weeks.  Rogam keeps your body from making the anitbodies that want to treat the baby like a virus.

As hard as it is to deal with, its not your fault. If she is not able to carry children at all and you are wanting to help her, then maybe you could concider surogetcy (i cant spell sorry) and carry her child for her. Its a tough thing to have to deal with and i am sorry for both you and her, i hope something works out for her!

unfortunately there is nothing you can do... i know thats not easy to deal with but you cant stress about it because its completely out of your control and everyone elses. its not good for you to stress during pregnancy because it does affect the baby. hope that came out like i meant it. it is very sad to know someone cant have babies but i am sure she will be happy for you dispite her situation. hope that helps though and that things will get better for you.

As far as i know a negative blood type doesnt cause MCs in the first trimester and regardless of blood types first trimester MCs are normally caused by chromosomal abnormalities... the negative blood type (if sensitized) can cause immune hydrops fetalis which can cause stillbirth but not till the 2nd and 3rd trimester... im assuming she has recieved the Rhogam injection following both MCs??
