I had a scan at 6w due to pain, so at my 10w I heard babies heart beat, then had my measurements scan at 13w. All totally amazing experiences :-) have fun

I've never had a vaginal ultrasound with any of mine and i was around 8 weeks at my first drs appointment. But i really think it depends on the Dr and what they prefer.

Depends on the doctor. Mine won't do normal ultrasounds till about 13 weeks. So before that it was all vaginal.

Probably not. At 10 weeks an external ultrasound should work just fine.

Will it be one of those ones they stick a rod up there or a normal ultrasound?

Yes they usually do an ultrasound at first visit to get exact measurement of baby and estimate of due date. They may also do a pap as well as lab work depending on the doctor. Good luck :)
