My midwife has provided me with cd n leaflet for breast feeding which i yet have to read n watch... I m jst not getting time lol.. I m thinking i mite hve to go with my guts on this one...
I m not sure where u live so i m not going to be any help with brands... But i bought a 1st safety pram n car seat...
I m thinking of buying manual breastfeeding pump thy come cheap n much handy but i m still not sure...
I've just heard of those stories where women have to pump and breastfeed because they work, and one day they go to feed their baby and there isn't enough :( which is why I'm thinking of telling WIC that I'm going to formula feed, just in case that happens to me I'll be prepared. But I am planning on breastfeeding even though my boobs are ridiculously huge, so we'll see how that goes.
At acline im not sure how to answer that lol but I believe that if you constantly breastfeed theres no reason why you should run out. But idk ive never breastfed any of my kids
I couldnt get it the first time..bc of my flat nipples :/ but it is possible, if your income qualifies u for wic u can take the classes for free, im doing that starting jan 8 i hope i get the hang of it! i did my research on carseats and strollers, im buying a britax carseat stroller combo the material is so soft, it looks like it will be comfy for baby! :)...i also really liked the chicco combos , check them out!
here in cali the wic makes yu go to breastfeeding classes.... also they could help yu in the hospital... my friend told me that her sister in law has really big boobs nd wasnt able to breast feed her son... but every person is different..
So, if you tell WIC you want to breastfeed for a year, and then your milk runs out, you're just screwed?
Also most WIC offices offer breastfeeding classes you can take before & after baby is born.
Most hospitals have lactation specialists, there are also nipple shields
If you have WIC they offer electronic pumps very nice NEW ones for free only catch is you HAVE TO breastfeed for a whole year during the time you have the pump. You cannot switch to formula.
Carseats all of the are good they have to pass certain test to be sold anywhere. So just go with the one you like. I always buy graco
If you massage your boob alittle and then squeeze you nipple just a little it should get your milk to stary dripping then but your baby on the nipple and he'll taste it and want to latch on. Thata what I did.
Another note... Continue breastfeeding even when your breast are empty that way your body knows to produce more milk!! :)
Thank you guys! and also, ive read a lot of posts on here saying something about flat nipples lol so i looked up different types of nipples and i guess id have flat nipples too? lol kinda embarrassing but is breast feeding with flat nipples really that bad? i figured you would just flick them and make them hard hahaha right??
Idk what a caraway is but I meant car seat.
Also, most hospital give you a hand pump. I suggest a modela (pretty sure that's the name, or very close to it). It can convert from a hand to an automatic. Runs about $60 at Walmart. I think there are coupons online though.
Sorry for the double post. Couldn't remember your last question.
I also have large breasts and I can tell you, the only problem I had was getting a proper latch because I couldn't see my whole nipple.
I learn that if you compress your nipple as flat as possible and slip it down from the nose to the lips, it'll slip into their mouth in the proper position.
For my son, I used a graco caraway because it had a super easy over-the-head strap. A lot more simple to remove baby when it's sleeping.
For my stroller, I also went with graco, mainly because it was cheap on craigslist. It's super durable and I'm using the same one for my daughter as well.
Put you baby up between your breasts skin to skin his chest against yours. From there he may move his head or whole body left or right because your baby can smell your milk. And have your LO find it on there own, they may need some assistance but its a natural I stink for babies to do. It make take a few tries to get it done. Just keep calm as your doing it because they can sense it when u get frustrated. As they drink keep there head up a little compared to there body.
That's all I remember from my bf class
Good luck and merry Christmas :)

The nurse should teach you after you deliver the baby. Only trick i know is to wiggle your finger along the roof of their mouth to get them used to sucking lol
This is a good place to ask, as I'm a ftm and wondering the same things as well lol. But I just wanted to say that depending on where you live, there could be programs like in my town where you can go to free classes. I'm signed up for birthing classes and breastfeeding. Just somethin to look into maybe :)
