I want to add that the further along you get the more innaccurate the results. The reasons being that everyone's body is different and baby may be laying a certain way to make your uterus stick out more (adding a few cm's).
Sonograms in late pregnancy can be off by 1-2 lbs as well.
I agree. Measuring fundal height is really inaccurate and can if they measure in different places it will be off. I was 33 weeks and measuring 27 weeks. Ultrasound showed baby to be 32 weeks 6 days. Only go by ultrasound or gestational age. Good luck.
Fundal heights are so inaccurate and shouldn't be the basis for anything. Also I want to tell you that ACOG (American Collegiate of Obstetricians and Gynecologists) and WHO (World Health Organization) state that macrosomia is NOT a valid reason for induction. Macrosomia is a baby suspected to be larger than 8 lbs 14 ounces or in some cases even larger than 9 lbs 13 ounces.
So I personally wouldn't worry. If baby is moving and heartrate is great then all is most likely well. Most doctors are not measuring fundal height anymore due to inaccuracies. Go with your gut. If they're freaking you out for no reason you can tell them to stop. You have a voice!
