Did any of yu drink or eat after ? In the room my dr said not to eat after 2 hours before the app and only water if I wanna drink . He said he recommended it cause some people come in with only that in their system so they fail it . But when the lady at the front desk went over the instructions she said  I can eat a regular breakfast and all that I just can't eat or drink after I take it till my app is over..

Well u thought that too but they have the front desk lady give it too yu and give yu go over it with yu an all that

I had to fast for 8 hours and i coyld eat what ever after the test .

I'm sure the front desk lady knows nothing about the glucose tolerance test nor can she give you advise on what she believes u can do.
For best results, you must be on an empty stomach. If the 1 hr glucose test comes bk abnormal then you will have to do the 3 hr test. Trust me, there's alot more sugar in that drink and alot more blood draws. Your arms will look like you've been doing something u ain't supposed to

Hmm I would call. Ask for their specific directions. And go by what they say then.

The dr said one thing the lady that give it to me said another.  And I didn get directions all she did was write on my paper that has my app time and date and all that is when to drink it when I should be done drinking it   that's it.

And I was able to eat the second after they pricked my finger. They recommended I bring a high protein snack to eat directly after. :)

I ate 3 hours before the test. Waited two hours and ate the jelly beans and then had my app an hour later.  Did they give you a sheet with directions on it? If so, follow those directions to a t. Every office does it differently, so go by what they fell you. Call them if you need better instruction.. Good luck momma!

I ate before my appt. the doctor and nurse said just nothing after I drank the glucose drink

I always ate right after. The best thing that helped me was Macdonalds french fries. All the glucose then salty fries amazing. I wouldn't eat before because it can make you throw up and then you will have to do it all over again.

I would follow what the doctor said. I personally took this test and they didn't tell me to not eat before, but I would just not eat for the time before. If you fail it they make you do a 3 hr test.
