help for swelling?

I'm currently 34w 4d and was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia at 27 weeks. Been on bed rest and trying to take it easy with my feet elevated. Nothing seems to help but the calves, ankles, feet, and toes are so swollen that they are shiny and beyond dry. It's painful to put any pressure on them. Any suggestions?

This may sound crazy but you need to up your water intake too.  Makes no sense right?  Up fluid intake to relieve swelling but it will help.  Also try to watch your sodium intake too.  Keep the feet elevated above the heart.  Good luck.

If your legs are so swollen they are shiny, you are definitely fluid overloaded. Id call your doctor right away and tell them you are so overloaded, better safe then sorry.

If it's painful I would call your doctor. It could be getting worse at this point.
