help going into labor

what can i do for my baby to come? i am 37 weeks pregnant and my doctor says my baby is fully developed inside and out. i have a 3 year old and i can barely get around at the moment. my feet, knees, back and stomach constantly hurt. i am having contractions off and on but seems like when im preparing myself to go to the hospital they always stop. i have tried power walking and sexual intercourse, nothing is working. and my medicaid doesnt pay for you to be induced until you are 39 weeks, i cant go to much longer like this. i cry every single day because of pain. does insurance pay for me tp be induced? HELP

Yes i understand my 3rd daughter was born on the 27th of aug this last yr she was due on the 28th and the only reason they induced me was because at my 40 week appt on the 26th i was measuring 42cm, she was born at 9lbs 7ozs 22 inches long, however prior to that they never even offered inducement, the baby will come when she is ready to come, so hang in there unless she is getting really big inside u there is no reason for anything prior to 40 weeks

Dr can't tell if baby's lungs are developed without doing an amnio. Pregnancy is 40 weeks, give or take a week or 2. When baby is ready, it'll come. Trust me, I know it's uncomfortable. I work at a job that I'm on my feet ALL DAY and I am in pain when I get home. But it's best for baby to hang in there and wait till s/he comes on its own.

Just keep on hanging in there, it will happen for you soon. I am 35 weeks so I know how you feel. I am working full time and taking care of my 2 year old when I get home. It is not easy and it is uncomfortable but just take it day by day. I play with my daughter but I do more sit down stuff with her, reading-blocks etc. and I have let her watch more TV then I would prefer but at this time I need to be able to rest. I have also been asking my husband to do more, which trust me isnt easy because generally he doesn't clean/cook etc....
Castrol oil is used a lot and a lot of people swear by it but I wouldn't try it. It will make you go to the bathroom a lot, which will dehydrate you which can make you feel worse. And if you are ingesting it and having these effects your baby is also ingesting it and possible getting theye same negative effects. Wait it out and maybe at 39 weeks you can be induced!!
Good  LUck!!

Do not take the castor oil unless u want to get extremely ill.  The diahrea and dehydration is what will throw u into labor.  If u think u are miserable now try having screaming diahrea and vomiting on top of being in labor.  I have also heard the baby can have a bm and inhale it also. Also technically your baby is considered full term at 37 weeks however that means if I went into labor at that time your baby would survive.  No dr can tell u at 37 weeks if your baby is truly fully developed.  The only way to test lung maturity is by amnio.  The baby needs to stay put until baby is ready to come.  Its only a few more weeks.  Also most insurance wont pay for induction unless it is medically necessary.  I know its uncomfortable but that discomfort is a better alternative than a Nicu baby in respiratory distress.  Good luck.

Castor oil can make the baby have a bowel movement before she's supposed to, and if she ingests it then it can be really dangerous...it gets into their lungs and can even make them stop breathing in serious cases. I understand you wanting him out, but castor oil isn't a good idea. My OB says she won't induce until at least 29 weeks, but talk to your doc about it and see what he says.

It's not like car oil.. I may have misspelled it. It's something you ingest. All I know is it helps kick start labor, but it also gives you the shts.

is the castor oil safe? my doctor told me to get out and walk. i had to explain to her that its not easy for me to get around. i went walking a couple days ago and my knees ache like someone kicked me n them. my babys expected weight is 6 pounds 10 ounces and seems as if shes getting bigger by the second. the doctor said she was fully developed inside and out so i dont see the problem with inducing me already. right now im just emotionally and physically drained.

The end of a pregnancy can be a very painful heavy load to bear. At this stage, and suffering with it the way you are, I think you should spend the last couple of weeks doing nothing at all and making yourself as comfortable as possible. You should be resting up now ready for labour and the new baby, not taking on any kind of work load. Call on your friends and family to take your household responsibilities and look after your little one. It is only for a couple of weeks; after all they would step in if you were in hospital. If no-one will give you the care you need and deserve; nurse yourself. Make your own life as easy as possible and stay indoors, don't cook or clean, and sit or lie as comfortably as you can all day and watch your child play. Consider hiring a doula - maternity help - and give your baby all the time it wants inside. It seems like forever, now, but these couple of weeks will soon be over and you will be recovering with your new baby before very long!

I am preggo with my first but I know from my sister. Walking and baths can help your water break. I'vr also heard about castor oil. You might want to do some research on that.
