help?

So someone told me that babies don't fully develop down there until about 20 weeks .. I got my last ultrasound at 17 weeks and was told it is a girl. I'm now 32 weeks pregnant. And people are saying that it could've possibly changed into a girl? I'm just wondering if this is true.. I know it wont be 100% til baby comes out, I don't mind what the sex is, just sooo much girl stuff! And curious. This is also my first pregnancy.

I was told it was a girl at 17 weeks 4 days...I have a lot of ultrasounds cuz I'm high-risk so it's been confirmed about 5 times so far. :)

I think it's possible if you don't have a later ultrasound for confirmation that they are wrong, but it's likely that early they're correct, as in my case. I'd go ahead and buy cute girl stuff if I were you, just keep my receipts.

he chances of baby being different gender i feel are very slim.unless you had a very unexperienced u/s tech.... i was told @ 12 wks that i was having boy and it was confirmed at 20 wks and sure indeed i had a boy last friday... there are instances where tech ms coukd be wrong but i dont think it happens very often

Okay thank you! Makes me feel so much better haha it was only the fact that it was before 20 weeks that they said it was a girl :)

I got an ultrasound at 20 weeks and 28 weeks, and both said boy. I still worry about him coming out a girl lol. I'd be happy either way, but I'd have to return a bunch of stuff. It's possible that the gender could be wrong, but it's not that common that they're wrong.

Depends on the tech that you have.  Really there is no 100% answer for you but most techs can tell after 16wks.  I had my U/S at 18 wks and our tech said it was a boy, no doubt.  We had to go back at 22wks because he wasn't being co-operative and didn't roll over for her but it meant we got to confirm then too.     I wouldn't worry too much they are pretty good at telling the difference now.

I worry about that too. I was told I was having a girl too and I'm scared of her coming out a boy. I will be happy not matter what just as long as it is a happy healthy baby, but I have so much girl stuff it would look weird if I use it with a boy. I heard that we should get another ultrasound before the baby is born, but my doctor hasn't mentioned it yet. I'm almost 37 weeks now.
