very cool, im hoping for a water birth too. Im so excited, I've heard really good things about the benefits of water birth. I see no contest between hospitals and birth centers, a hospital seems so stressful and over bearing with unnecesary medical intervention, for examples being strapped down to monitors and given drugs and laying on my back for labor, the most painful way to be from whay ive read. also staying there over night when you and baby are healthy, NO THANK YOU. lol my birth center is the same as yours, my midwife said we'll be there maximum 10 hours and thats really if we arent feeling well and need to rest but it could only be 4 hours. I really really hope my birth plan goes as I hope, im a ftm so I dont really know how Ill do as far as naturally going into labor.  Are you ladies doing skin-to-skin contact for the first hour after birth?

Im planning on delivering at a birthing center. Its waaay cheaper for me than hospital, because we re paying everything out of pocket. I wanted that with my first, but my water broke and i never went into labor so i had to go to the hospital and get induced. Really really hoping it all goes as planned this time, im shooting for a water birth. My midwife
is awesome though...and the hospital is just a few blocks away if we need it, and my midwives have their own wing at the hospital too so it wont be bad if i end up there. I cant wait for all natural tho, and at the birth center you can go home within like 4-6 hrs after birth if you want. Itll be so nice to rest and. recover at home instead of getting woke up by all the nurses every 20 min.

To give birth at home or birth center but Couldn't afford a mid wife at home and the birth center I wanted to go to didn't take my insurance so hospital I was stuck with so my plan was to labor at home as long as I could so I didn't have to be at the hospital that long. Well I ended up waiting too long and had my baby in the car on the way too the hospital lol. Lucky everything turned out good and she is perfectly healthy. i can honesty say that was a way better birth then my first even tho it was in a car. I didn't tear at all like with my first and I actually remember everything cuz I wasn't all drugged out . So if I do have another baby ill just save money to get a midwife and stay at home

I wish I could have had a midwife at home. My first I had at the hospital and it was horrible cuz I hate hospitals and it wasn't comfortable at all. I ended up caving in and getting some drugs thru an iv and they made me so out of it I didn't even know what was going on half the time that experience made me so freaked out about giving birth in a hospital again I would freak out just thinking about it . With my second Iwanted

lol im with you on that. where are you girls from? I cant believe its cheaper to go to the hospital there than have an all natural home/birth center delivery, thats so backwards. hospitals here in oregon are way more expensive and I was told its because of all the machines, the length of time your there and medicine (even just an IV) so I thought it being more expensive was universal

I wanted to do all natural at home with a midwife, but sadly I couldn't afford it :( so hospital birth is what I'll have. I plan on laboring for as long as I can stand it at home though. I wanna get to the hospital and have here like 30 minutes after I get there. I hate hospitals lol

that's awesome. it'll be great to experience child birth the way it was meant to be. today my preacher said pain and love go hand in hand and that it makes all the difference when having a baby. (: it made me feel so excited.

very cool :) im really excited about going all natural I want both baby and me to be awake and aware to cherish the moment. my birth centers is 1/3 of the price of a hospital delivery. And I feel the same way about the safety aspect but you can only deliver at the birth center if your low risk so its safe and we are only 1 minute (literally) away from the hospital. I feel really secure though because in 10 years and thousands of deliveries my midwife has only had to transfer to the hospital 3 times.

I'm going all natural but it'll be at a hospital, wouldn't be able to afford going with anything else. but I'm glad I'll be there in case something we're to go wrong and my doctor is very supportive of my decisions.
