It actually can get in your system by touching it. It goes in thru your pores just like if you touch coke or shrooms you'll get a little buzz. if you havent been in her type of situation dont judge her and quit talking down on her shes asking for help. i know from experience cus i used to be around all that stuff, girl u need to stop touching it and idk if ur helping them sell it but if u are at least use gloves or something. If u keep testing dirty THEY WILL TAKE YOUR BABY AWAY. It should leave your system in about 3 days as long as you quit messing with it

Well u keep asking the same question. How long does it stay In ur system and I dont think that should be ur main concern.

For one look it up urself on how long it stays in ur system.

Also maybe they are cooking it in ur apartment that's how it got in ur system and if that's the case all ur belonging and if u have any baby stuff there it is all tainted.

And u are worried about it being in ur system what about ur baby's system. What if ur baby is already addicted to it and is going to have with draws from it when its born.

And another thing no matter how bad u think u have it someone else out there as it a lot worse. U should be doing everything in this world to be getting out of that house.

And for u baby's sake I sure as hell hope it was a mix up at the lab

If you just touch something that has had it on it can you get it in your system. Not by doing it. Just touching it.

Adhd meds are stimulants and are basically a legal form of methamphetamine.  If you google Focalin or Vyvanse the professional name for them starts with meth... methayl something. So if you've been on any type of stimulant drug or even possibly an anti depressant or anxiety it could very well be the source of why you tested positive.

Drug test
A woman from California almost lost her newborn baby after testing positive for methamphetamine. The problem? She never used the drug.

Maggie Downs, a writer from Palm Springs, CA, was several hours into labor with her first child when a nurse confronted her in the hospital bathroom and told her that she had tested positive for methamphetamine.

Confused, Downs joked awkwardly in response.

“Well, I’ve always been a positive person,” Downs told the nurse, according to her account on Narratively.

But Downs figured it was just a mistake. So when the nurse asked her to urinate in a cup for drug-testing, she did so without hesitation. But it came back positive again.

As she went through the pains of contractions, she was told that she'd be unable to breastfeed her child. As her husband spoke with the hospital staff, insisting there had been a mistake, Downs wondered how such a thing could happen and recounted her diet during pregnancy.

“No alcohol, no deli foods, nothing raw, undercooked or smoked,” she wrote. “The bulk of my produce was organic, my drinking water purified through a reverse-osmosis system. I used clove oil on a persistent toothache instead of visiting the dentist, because I didn’t want any anesthetic to pass through my body and into the placenta. During all 42 weeks, the hardest drugs that entered my body were prenatal vitamins and puffs from my prescription asthma inhaler.”

Turns out, the inhaler was the problem. Downs and her husband insisted that was the cause for the failed drug tests and looked up information online that shows inhalers can contain traces of methamphetamine. According to Labcorp, Methamphetamine is available in two forms: "d" and "l." The "d" form is a prescription stimulant and appetite suppressant. The "l" form is available over-the-counter as the active ingredient of the Vick's inhaler and is included in certain prescription medications. And illegal methamphetamine may contain a mixture, which could be the reason why a drug test proved positive for “methamphetamine.”

But the hospital still had to report the incident to Child Protective Services and a social worker warned Downs that they could come by her house and take away her baby.

“The weeks that follow are dark,” Downs wrote. “I don’t know if I would have experienced the same level of postpartum depression without failing those drug tests. But I do know most other mothers don’t spend their first few weeks with baby the way I do – the shades drawn, peeking out from behind the blinds, examining each car that drives past.”

Fortunately for Downs, CPS never came. The hospital was able to resolve the matter and she was able to keep her baby.

Ask for a retest. Also, you can further the breakdown of specifically what chemical showed up as meth since many prescription drugs can show a positive for meth on a drug screen. No worries about your weed being laced. No one would ever spend that kind of money for no pay back ;) and as far as someone cooking it, you would have to be in pretty close proximity for an extended period of time in order to come up hot. Chances are you took a prescribed drug that you didn't realize would test you positive. But like I said a further breakdown of the test will show that. It takes about 72 hours to show up clean if use is discontinued. I BTW, drug test people for a living. Lol.

Certain medicines and inhalers can cause a false positive but if you are exposed in the house that is most likely the cause. good luck you should try a church or planned parenthood or government assistance to find a place to stay.

My daughter just lost her first little boy to CPS at 5 weeks of age (Sept. 16) because she had marijuana and meth in her system The baby tested positive by hair sample for both as well. My daughter has a medical marijuana card for severe, long standing, GI issues for which conventional medicine has been unable to help. Marijuana is the only thing that allows her to keep food down (which is kind of important when you are pregnant for the health of mom and baby). She has never done meth in her life. She did find out in court, however, that her fiance admitted that he had been using meth (his levels were over 6000). We assume that she became exposed second hand through contact with him (yes you can absorb it into your skin from touching it or anything that the residue is on) and the baby became exposed in utero through her He probably continued to get exposed through contact with him post-natally. She is now having to take multiple classes and frequent drug testing now. She gets to visit her baby 3 times a week for 2 hours under CPS supervision and won't be getting him back until mid Dec.at the earliest. Just be very careful. CPS doesn't care how you may have become positive. They only see what they WANT to see. There are lots of shelters for pregnant women as well as young mothers out there. Your Dr should be able to get you in touch with one or call a domestic abuse hotline.

Poppy seeds make you test positive for opium.. different drug. As someone that smoked meth in the past (I've been clean for 10 years...yay me) I know that most  places that sell it people are deff going to be smoking it. That's probably how it happened. You will probably keep testing positive as long as your there. Like one of the other posters said it absorbs into everything. It doesn't matter if your in another room or leave while they do it. And yes they would most likely take your kids...Sorry that your stuck in a bad situation I hope you get out of there soon. God Bless

So you have your 2 other kids living there with you? You know if your somehow testing positive and haven't done it, then it is most likely in their system too. And there's just razor blades laying in the floor? I'm sorry but that's not a place kids should be you should find a local shelter and go there now because if you test positive again because they are smoking it in the house and cps comes to check it out because your other kids well you know it wouldn't be good I'm sure that's why your worried. So just leave don't stay there its not worth it.

Lol it did escalate quick.. But since she doesn't even know how long meth stays in your system, I doubt she's using it.. But good luck you could always talk to your doctor about it and tell them you're in the process of moving out.. Hopefully they'll understand

Have you eaten anything with poppy seeds? Like poppy seed muffins or bread?  That can make someone test positive.

If they suspect any drugs being used yes they will test and yes they can take your baby, If you don't want any chance of that you would remove yourself from that situation(living in the house) you can't get enough in your system just by touching it you have to actually be breathing it in or it can absorb to your skin like if you rubbed it on yourself.. Idk what to tell you I'm 19, and there's no doubt in my mind no one comes before my child, if you have to "snitch" to keep your child you would do it if you loved your child.. I don't believe in using drugs or any substance while pregnant but if you really didn't do it you could've tested positive because of certain pills(some prescription pills can cause a false positive) or breathing it in if others smoke in the house.. I hope the best for you xx but remember its better to snitch then get caught and your child being taken

I'm Sorry that you are going through this...it is any mother's nightmare worrying that they could lose their baby. But you need to be up front and honest with you Dr. Tell them that you are living with those people,  if you can't say names then don't but the more you can be honest about everything the better it will be. I will pray for you and your kids tonight and hope everything turns up for you. Be strong you will get on the right track.
