how important is your child

I am not god, I have no right to judge any humanbeing. But i met this mother yesterday, she has a 2 year old and is 32 weeks pregnant with her second. She has had a 100% healthy pregnancy both rounds but this mother refuses to stop smoking weed. She says her children eat everyday so why should she have tp give up something she enjoys. Idk, I just don't get some people. I guess my question is, is smoking weed throughout your pregnancy, and your children's life, an okay thing to do? My heart was feeling so heavy for this person today, and her children.

Yes!! Those commercials make me sad, I hate watching them. My boyfriends like you know, they don't really say to not smoke during pregnancy that chick just says to get used to speaking through that little hole and some women are surprisingly okay with that. WHY?! I have no freakn clue..it's just sad

... I didn't mean to post that just yet. Lol. But I don't have a problem with people smoking after their kid is born...especially if u aren't doing it around them. It's when you do it while pregnant that really bothers me. Because it does put the baby at an unnecessary risk.

Honestly. I smoked cigs and weed pretty regularly before finding out I was pregnant. For me weed just made me feel good and cigs were my stress reliever.

Exactly. Honestly it's just the matter of being selfish. And usually the first thing out of their mouths is that it's addictive, yet you don't see them taking a class or something, anything to stop smoking.. And some women just flat out believe that it will do no harm because their own mothers smoked while pregnant with them. Yeah you may have came out with a normal life but uh look at the choices you're making...not very smart. I just feel like there's absolutely no way of ever making smoking okay while pregnant.

I'm no saint, I smoked weed for years, my boyfriend was my supplier at one point, but as soon as I peed on that stick we both gave it up. Haven't touched it not once and sheeesh, my pregnancy has been lonely and stressful, but I don't go "lite up". I just do not understand some mothers choices. I do have to say that I disagree ab it being "HER LIFE" personally, it's now her children's life, you give up your own individual life when you discover you've created one inside of you.

Good for you, Cassie! Most weed smokers I know complain about how addictive it is and make different excuses all day. I'm sure it was tough to quit. But very good for your baby! And you! :)

Coming from a former smoker, it's all in YOUR OWN will to stop..my boyfriend and I both smoked, I for one was a little more consistent than him & as soon as we figured out I was pregnant we stopped cold turkey. It was difficult because I used weed as a some what "stress reliever", and all pregnancy has done is stress me out..and there's times where you get that urge but honestly thinking about my daughter and feeling her move and how great it is to carry a baby although some women may never experience the feeling...I just felt that it'd be selfish to continue knowing that it could possibly jeopardize my chances of being a mother or possibly cause my daughter unnecessary LIFE LONG problems..& knowing I could've single handedly prevented those problems it just wouldn't have been fair to her at all. So it's VERY possible to stop smoking, some women just simply choose not to for whatever EXCUSE. There's so many, TOO MANY risks.

You're going to get lots of different, strong opinions on this matter. Even rude ones, so prepare. In my opinion, I don't think it's right. At least not while pregnant. I'm not a smoker. I have smoked a couple times in my life, but have never had it be a regular thing, not even close. I don't see why so many women refuse to give up smoking it while pregnant. Despite what they tell themselves to make themselves feel better, it CAN affect their babies. It doesn't harm every baby, but why take the chance? Would they drink alcohol every day? Smoking anything, weed or cigarettes, cuts off oxygen to the baby to where they literally can't breathe every time you inhale. That does not seem okay to me. My father smoked and still does, but he never ever did it around me as a child, I didn't even know he did. I guess the only negative thing I can say about a parent smoking AFTER baby is born is that it's a total waste of money. People spend hundreds a week sometimes depending how often they smoke. That should be going to groceries, baby's needs, etc. I don't get it personally.

No , it's not okay to do . . . But we have plebty of people in this world that smokes marijuana & cigarettes too throughout their pregnancies . Some people just don't have that strong willing mind to quit , & also maybe her urge for it is VERY bad, and pregnancy made it worse . I honestly don't know her situation , so I won't go deep... It's her LIFE!
