increasing pain when sleeping

Every night I wake up to this horrible pain on my side/hip/butt area. And I get it on whatever side I was just sleeping on. This pain hurts soooo bad. I have got in it before, but now its every night! Anyone else. I’m sure its normal, but man, it hurts! It does go away after moving to the Other side, but what a pain!!!

I also have had an increase pain in my hand as well, and the numming, that just NEVER goes away!!

Any ideas on how to help this. Or just something I have to live with intill baby is here!

I've been sleeping with a pillow between my legs for months...  My hips still kill!

Pmperez: why were you told not to sleep on your right side at all?!  I flip flop between my right and left side all morning. When one hip wakes me up b/c it hurts, I flip to the other side for about an hour until it wakes me up...

My hips hurt so bad in the morning I just want to cry!  Which ever side I lie on my hips just kill!!  My belly is so big that I can't even roll part on my side/back b/c the weight of my belly is pulling and it's really uncomfortable!  I woke up at 5:40am to pee and never went back to sleep!  I've already taken two 1 hour naps today!!

I've had friends who are mothers tell me it's something about our hips spreading or softening preparing for birth.  Tomorrow I'll be at 36 weeks!

Has to be your sciatic nerve, I have the same issue, except mine only bothers me when I walk a lot, it has actually brought me to my knee's in my OB's office, he about pee'ed all over himself when I fell lol. He said the only way to help it is stretching, warm baths, tylenol or a ciropractor(sp) good luck cuz I know what a hassle it is.

I have had the same thing, try sleeping with a pillow between your legs as well, it will help. I still get some pain, and have to toss and turn during the night. Feels almost like I get about 1 hour on each side. LOL its part of the pregnancy woes.

Oh wow. You know im only 18 weeks and i have that pain on my left side, same area. If i lay on it for to long or lay on my back for to long it hurts so bad. I cant even really walk on my left leg because if i put pressure on it it hurts real bad. Thats only if i have layed on though. After a while of being off of it it goes away. Then im back to normal. Is that what it is?? The sciatic nerve??

I have the same thing and Im a little over 17 weeks, it started around 13 weeks, my midwife said it was sciatic nerve, Ive got along way to go and can only imagine it will probably get worse...I cant even get out of bed at night fast, I have to go really slow it hurts so bad.
