But before being induced my doctor did a membrane sweep and I had my bloody show. Its susupposed to help things along before inducing doctors will do this to see if it will help u along. Maybe u can call your doctor and ask about it? I read it can get labor going anywhere from 12 hours to couple days

Im supposed to be getting induced monday.
my doctor said I come in at 10 pm they have me drink a drink three times to soften my cervix.  In the morning break my water and start iv pitocin which gets contractions going and they wait til the contractions are where there supposed to be then they give u epidural if u want it and have you push when your body is ready.

All they'll do is give you pitocin in a IV which is medication to help start labor put you on the monitors to watch the baby & if your water doesn't break they might break it for you! Thats it! All women are different so you might so into labor shortly after or hours and hours later. Depending on the hospital if you dont go into labor by a certain time/point theyll do a c-section or if the baby doesn't do good with the pitocin youll have c-section!
