Are you only induced for medical reason? Or can you ask to be induced for personal reasons?

I'm at the hospital getting induced right now. And it is taking forever I got here at 830pm now its 11am and no sign of baby :(

Most doctors won't do it unless there is a medical reason. You can always talk to them am see what their requirements are for inductions. With my first my doctor wouldn't induced me till I was 42 weeks

My doctor will induce at 39 weeks for personal reasons. They can't any sooner because medical won't cover it unless it is medically needed.

It doesn't necessarily have to be medical related. I asked my doctor if I could get induced so that my family have a set date to be here for when I deliver.

My Dr will only induce once I hit 39 wks unless there's a medical reason he'll do it earlier. He said that If i dont give birth by next thurs which I will be 38+5 he'll schedule an inducement date.  Hopefully I go into labor before :)

im being induced a week early for constant migranes n a pregnancy rash i have...so they only do indictions for medical reasons bec if i hadntnhad any of these problems he wouldve let me go to see if i would go naturally plus ive been 1cm dialated for 3 weeks...so if u have any medical problems be sure to tell them n u might get lucky

My Dr will only go 7 days prior to due date. I am due on the 18th of Feb and wanted to have baby on the 10 because that is my grandmother s birthday. He wouldn't do it.

I want to get induced on my due date which is December 23..  I want to be at home on xmas. Or hopefully he comes early

I'm getting induced on Nov 4th.. his due date and there wasn't any medical reasons. Probably depends on your doctor

I set my induction date for the 30th but I had to beg my dr. My body is so tiny and the baby is very big . And I told him I could not bare this pain much longer . So he set it for the 30th of October.  But wants to see me on the 28th to make sure everything is good to go . If he doesn't like what he sees he does it the 29th at 5am. Just be very honest with your Dr . If you want the baby out ASAP , ask him to just set he date that way you can relax a little bit. (I did that because I couldn't relax because a baby can come at any time ) even though the baby can come at any ny time it sometimes give la mom peace st mind to kniw there will be an end .hope this helps .

If you are trying to be induced early its typically only done for medical reasons. But if you are overdue you can request to be induced and they will usually do it. I was induced at 40+1 because I asked
