Well I went somewhere today(I don't work so I don't go anywhere ) and my ankles and fingers were and Still are swollen...I checked my bp twice and it was high! I called the hospital and they told me they checked all my results and everything was fine to just go and relax and put my feet up..are you KIDDING ME???? They were all worried about my blood pressure and now they aren't??? I woke up with swollen feet and ankles so what the heck?

So I saw my ob today and he says I have toxemia.. Not preeclampsia, my levels were 86 they have to be over 300 to have it. My blood pressure was higher again today and he wants me to monitor it at home! My ankles have been so swollen today and he told me that the hospital shouldn't have blown me off like they did. I go every week to see him now to have a stress test on my baby and that will determine when I deliver!

Severe swelling in your legs, ankles, and feet can be pitted edema. If you push into your swollen areas does it "pit " in? And does it stay for awhile? If it does.. pitted edema. There's nothing you can do for it except drink lots of water and put your feet up when possible. The swelling will never really go down all the way. Good luck.

My situation is pretty similar. My swelling doesn't go away even with my feet up. I have a little bit of protein in my urine and high blood pressure. Not enough to diagnose preeclampsia so they call it pregnancy induced hypertension. I've been on bed rest for a little over a week and I'm not as swollen (though I am still puffy all over).

Sometimes all the can do is tell you to take it easy. I hope your doctor can tell you good news when he gets back.

Well switching hospitals is not an options... I didn't have my own ob doctor on this visit because he isn't in this week so I know on Monday I'll be back in his care... Mom said we should have just went to the er and not called them because they are snotty to me anyway lol. And I don't do anything unless it's let the dogs out, eat and use the bathroom... I really just want to talk to my own ob

My bp wasn't high but I swell constantly, doctors and nurses look at my swelling and can't believe I don't have preeclampsia... if I was you, go to another hospital and explain to them that the swelling hasn't changed while laying down for many hours and your bp has been high. I went to the e.r. one day and had no protein in my urine and 2 days later had minuet amounts in my urine at my weekly check up. Hope everything works out for you!

That happened to me about 3 weeks ago. I did the 24 hr urine an everything turned out fine according to the tests. Like you , I'm still swollen . I just drink so much water it's just being retained :(

I would definately good in either way. Swelling is never good and same for high blood pressure.
