is my doctor stupid or is it just me?

I went to the doctor Thursday because I was having very painful contractions and wanted to make sure I wasn't in labor (I'm 32 Weeks) he checked me and didn't say how far dilated I am and just started ranting about how I'm not getting enough calories and to eat more and sent me home?? The contractions finally Stopped but last night I woke up having the worst contractions I have ever felt they were so bad I literally thought I was going to have her at home but they ended up slowing down and I fell asleep.I've had a few on and off today but not many I'm so confused of what's going on. I have never heard of not getting enough calories causing contractions I eat all day and night I don't see how that could even be a possibility even if it is true. Has anyone else experienced contractions like this or been told that by their doctor? If I get contractions like that again I'm going to l&d instead of my doctor.

Thank you rose I have a feeling she will be early both if my boys were early (32 weeks and 35weeks) that's why I'm so nervous about these contractions. It just irritated me that he started freaking out about calories before even asking me if I was eating or not when I told him I eat all the time he didn't say anything. I'm so frustrated.

Yes,  starvation can cause early labor but it sounds like your doc should have asked if you're eating rather than just guessing you weren't.

Sounds like this baby will be a little early - best wishes.

I couldn't move or change position last night night when I finally was able to force myself to get up to go pee I had to sit in the bathroom and wait for them to stop again so I could walk back to the bedroom. Even when I was in labor with both of my sons I never had contractions like that. Can Braxton hicks really be this painful????

Never heard of that happening from not getting enough calories... I know it can happen if you don't drink enough water though. Drink lots and lots of water! See if it stops that way. But if it continues I'd deff go to l&d and not your doctor. Seems like you aren't getting the best answer to your problem.

if you can take a bath, drink or eat something, change positions and the contractions stop they are not real labor. If it is real contractions they will get stronger instead of slowing and they will continue instead of stopping.
