With IVF the sperm and egg meet in a lab's petri dish, mingle and join, then transferred back to your uterus. Even if you've received assisted reproduction, such as IUI or IVF, you're still going to be in the two week wait like those moms of naturally-conceived pregnancies. You won't know if IVF has been successful right away since implantation into the uterine lining still needs to occur. Keep taking your prescribed fertility drugs.
