labor

I'm 38w & 4d today I went to the doctor & found out I was 3cm, so my doctor stripped my membranes. That was at about 2pm. How long could it be before labor starts & what can I do to help it progress?

I had mine stripped and my doctor stretched me to a 2 when I was 39 weeks and I still didnt have him for another week. but you may get lucky! Be prepared either way! :) go for a long walk! I hiked a bunch and I think it helped my thinning/dilating a lot!

With my first pregnancy I had 5 done! 5!!!! And none of them put me into labour. Well the last one basically did but I was already having mild contractions anyway. I was 41+5
With this last pregnancy I got it done, lost a big part of my mucus plug the next day and pieces for a whole week after. I had her exactly a week after my s&s and I was 41 weeks.

Ive had mine done twice now, once at 39+4 and once at 40+4... :( I was also 3 cm dilated and 80% effaced and nothing happened for me :( hopefully you have better luck than I did.

At that stage I'm not sure how effective it is, but I've had mine done twice (when I've been overdue) and delivered both those kids within 24hrs.

To be honest it might not even put you into labor. You can be stuck at 3cm for a long time. I'm not trying to sound mean but it's the sad truth
