lifting/picking up kids.

I have a 4 yr old autistic son. He isn't severely autsist but he doesn't understand a whole lot when I speak to him. My question is I pick him up a lot  or lift him or sometimes carry him. I'm also extremely active with him. During the day I'm fine but at night when I finally lay down I'm in severe pain in my lower back it feels like its my nerves in my lower back and I feel the same pain all in my pelvic area. When I turn over in bed or get up to use the bathroom thoset nerves hurt so bad. Does anyone else experience this pain? Can in hurt the baby? I'm not concerned about me being in pain I just want the baby to be ok.

My daughter is 17 months but very active.. playing with her and chasing her and lifting her hurts.. she's probably between 25-30lbs.. she's really tall. I would think its fine..just gives us a bad back I am now 39 + 2 and only pick her up when I have to as everything hurts so bad as it is..my body is killing me..pregnancy was soo much easier without another child to take care of x

My daughter is two and 26 pounds. I've been lifting her regularly and I'm 35w4d. But, I'm also 3cm dilated and 50% effaced already and having contractions. I don't think lifting will hurt the baby if you're used to it. But if you're having pain you should limit the lifting or stop altogether if you can. I can't as my dd is a climber and likes to get in trouble.

I know how you feel hun! My five year old is autistic except its hard to be active with him because of being prego and having his 2yr old brother to look after too. I think the pains youre getting are telling you to take a break. Not sure how far along you are but I know my boy is heavy lol. So I cant pick him up as much but he knows theres a "baby in mommy's tummy". Though he may not fully understand.

Have you talked to your son at all about the baby yet?
