losing baby

quick question... how do you know when you've lost your baby in the second and third trimester?  what do you feel?  are the symptoms the same as having a miscarriage in the first trimester?

You generally can't feel constant movement until 24-28 weeks (twins are diff. because there's TWO so you feel stuff sooner). They don't tell you to count movements until about the 28th week, I believe.

I have unfortunatley gone through this as well. I lost my twins at 30 wks. I strongly recommend counting and if you have any concern do not hesitate to call you doctor. The only thing I notice was lack of movement with one for a couple days and then the next started to slow down. I called the doctor right away after counting the movements and went straight to the hospital. As I was waiting the next 2 days to deliver after the steroids shot I lost both of them. I strongly believe that counting movement works to know your ok or something isn't right. Call your doctor if you are concerned. You are still a little early for constant movement I think

i'm pretty sure i'm not, i just get nervous because i am 25 weeks and i feel movement more somedays then i do others and somedays i don't notice movements.  I go to the doctor on wednesday.  I know movements can vary but i just get worried so easily.  MOM23ANGELS25F i am so sorry you have had to go through that!  Ieat well, haven't felt anything abnormal like bleeding or cramping or anything, so i'm assuming everything is ok but then again do you really feel things when youre baby is going to be stillborn?  I freak out to easily!!

Ummm. I personally have had to go through that... So i know exactly what you are talking about...... The only reason why I noticed something, was I was pushed down a flight stairs..... A few hours later, she stopped moving..... But I was already at the ER by then being checked out...... She stopped moving, and eventually later on that night that had to induce me with her and I had to give birth to her.... And it was sad, because she was stillborn..... Do you think or know that you are loosing your baby ? They told me because of the  fall, she had a brain bleed... It was horrible.......... I hope that you or anyone NEVER has to go throug this.... It's a horrible thing to experience.

NO it's not like the 1st...Although losing your baby at any time is horrible...I would think 2nd and 3rd trimester you would feel that the baby stops moving...That would be considered stillbirth and have to be delivered...
