I would personally be safe than sorry. But it's up to you.
I Jus warm un for few seconds and subway I have them toast it!
I've been eating lunch meat since I found out im pregnant Hun. If you want your salami enjoy it ;)
My doctor never said anything about what I can and can't eat. He just told me not to smoke or drink.
I've ate cold lunch meat this entire pregnancy and I did with my first as well..me and my babies are just fine
I didn't hear about the lunch meat thing til j was like 37 weeks lol so I've ate a lot of lunch meat in my pregnancy
I honestly dont warm it unless it's at subway or somewhere other than home
the process of heating kills the bacteria. I use to heat it up and than place it in fridge to cool back down. That way the bacteria was dead and I didn't have to eat hot lunch meat.
They suggest heating lunch meats to reduce the risk of contracting Listeria which in severe cases can be fatal during pregnancy.
They only tell you to avoid lunch meat and fish because they are trying to limit your chances of food poisoning. I eat it all the time...and baby is perfectly healthy
Lol thanks ladies! I think I will :-) just won't eat too much. Haven't been to the doctors yet, just went to a clinic for u/s and IM about 8 weeks so I'll be seeing one soon. Last pregnancy my doc didn't say anything about lunch meat, but I read it online everywhere, and IM such a worry worm. But right now I can't stop thinking about that sandwich!
When I was pregnant with first child I wasn't aware of the lunch meat being bad during pregnancy. I would have an Italian sub from subway every otherweek &I would crave lunch meat & pickles, so I would eat it! My daughter is now five & going to an advanced school. So it didn't affect or harm her in any way. I'm not saying that the lunch meat "myth"isn't true, I'm just saying it didn't harm me or my baby during pregnancy. So go ahead and enjoy that salami sandwich! Lol
My doctor said as long as it's warm. So you don't need to have it steaming hot, just warm it up in the microwave. But I would ask your doctor first, every doctor is different.
