mad!

Me and my mother had dinner plans tonight, we were going to go to outback and eat since we never get to go anywhere alone together without the boys. Well her friend just called her and said "hey come have margaritas with me at the mexican restaurant" so my mom literally just walked out the door. WTF! She just texted saying I'll be back around 9, and outback doesn't close until 10 so we can still go eat...but that's not the friggin' point. She's always leaving me here alone watching my brother and I'm tired of it, because I practically raised him because after she had him she got postpartum depression and literally slept 20 hours a day because of all the various medications she was on. I feel like I'm being used, and it's ridiculous. I've done more than my fair share of stuff around this house, she owes me SO much money(up in the thousands) from where I got my overage checks from college and income taxes, and I've basically raised her son. I'm tired of it. She always drops everything for her friends, and I just want to tell her that she's 39 years old, and not 16! I've never acted like that in my life so I just don't understand.

I completely agree! I think its kinda like a mid life crisis for women. Take her up on her offer to Go when she gets home and once u Go out tell her how you feel!

I understand that my mom had her first baby when she was 16 so she might feel like she needs to go out all the time, but she has business to take care of at home and it's not my responsibility to raise a child that I didn't lay down and make.

Was she going when she got prego the first time? Its deff no excuse but my friends mom did the same thing, left her to raise her little brother Android sister because she wanted to party like her friends had while she was pregnant and young. Ridiculous! Its like once my friend got old enough to babysit, that was her moms chance to be going again :/ and while my friend was raising her siblings she was also working full time to suppirt them and going to school full time. Just don't do what she has done now, she won't move out of her parents house because she's afraid they won't financially make it without her when its not her responsibility

I'm thinking about that. I'm probably blowing things way out of proportion but I'm just furious.

Maybe you should just turn the tables on her and do the same thing next time she makes plans with you. Not saying that 2 wrongs make it right,,, but that way she knows how much it hurts to be ditched by family. If you have to, take your brother with you and go out leaving her home alone.
