mask of pregnancy???

I have read on the internet and in books like what to expect when expecting about skin changes during pregnancy but being that I have never been pregnant during the summer (before now) I have never had a problem. Now with baby #3 I have brown patches on my face!! They look horrible! I have a patch above my lip that looks like a 5 oclock shadow!! One above my nose and another on the side of my nose close to my cheek. I have heard that sun makes it more noticable, I wish I would have known that before I started tanning this summer!! Now I have these ugly marks that make up doesnt cover and will only go away after I have my baby:(
Has anyone eles had this problem? Or known anyone that did? And did it really go away after birth? Anything I can do before?? I do know that bleaches are a no no, but maybe certain cleansers....................

HELP PLEASE!!!!

I have the spots all over my face!! On my forehead, cheeks, and above my lip! It's so embarrassing I hate even going into public cause I can't cover it up make-up is not doing the trick! Does anyone else feel like this?

I have it on the left side of my forehead......3 weeks or so ago I noticed a blotch about the size of a quarter and then last week looked really well again and it was HUGE....like the size of an egg or bigger!  I showed my midwife at my last appt. and she told me to be thankful b/c most people get it on their cheeks!

IDK about pregnancy mask on the face, but I've noticed in the last few weeks, I've developed freckles or something on my arms and a few on my chest. They look like flat moles and are a bit darker than my skin (maybe 2 shades) But again, they look like freckles.. since there are a few dozen of them.

It's really annoying me because I use sunscreen and am paranoid about skin cancer. I'm hoping they don't get worse on friday when we hit the beach.

Yea, my mom was just showing me the other day...it's really not that bad though...you have to be really close to her face to see it, and if she didn't point it out, I wouldn't have known! So it has gotten better for her, but still there. Sorry it's not a hopeful story! lol. But maybe yours will just disappear after you give birth! =)

hi there -
ive got the pregnancy mask also over my whole face. My usually pimple free complexion has also not been so pimple free since Ive been pregnant. I use Estee Lauder or Mac Makeup and that covers it no probs. Get a good concealer. I stopped using Estee Skincare though and changed to a gentle cheapy one as it made no difference.
Keep out of the sun as much as possible or wear a good sunscreen and it shouldnt get any darker. It will not usually fade immediately after babys born either it can take years. My friend still has it and her daughter is 5. Its a small price to pay for such a beautiful gift though :-)

All the best :-)

My mom got it in her pregnancy....it still flares up every now and then even though she has not pregnant for almost 7 years. I am not quite sure what can be done about. I think if it happens during pregnancy, you just have to wait until after you give birth to see if it just goes away and if not, then I would see a dermatologist about it. In the mean time put sunscreen on your face when you go outdoors so it doesn't get worse. I'm sorry you are experiencing this....oh the joys of pregnancy! It's worth it though, right?? =)
