mirena & pregnancy

i have had the mirena for over a year an lately ive been cramping throwing up tender breasts an had heavy discharge the last exam i had my dr couldnt find the strings on my iud is there a chance i could be pregnant

no she had done one before because she couldnt find it, she could see it though, shortly after she had placed it in but it was there now this time i went to have an exam she couldnt feel it or see it  but she didnt do an ultrasound now for the past week ive been feeling like this

They couldn't find the string and didn't do an ultrasound to make sure it was still in place?! Its possible you could be pregnant but mirena is also known to cause pregnancy Like symptoms which is why I ended up getting mine removed. The only thing you can do is take a test or have your doctor do a blood test. If your doctor does a blood test have them do an ultrasound as well to see where the mirena is.
