money for baby leave

Does anyone know what state funding may or may not be available for me since my job does not offer maternity leave? I already know that to qualify for unemployment, you have to be unemployed. Any other helpful suggestions? I live in Vermont if that helps at all...

If you were working before the doctor can put you on disability. I believe it is paid family leave for the other option of 6 weeks. And the baby daddy can get that too which they give 60% of the regular pay and the dad gets time to bond with the new baby

You can call your local job and family services, they usually have some options for people that get in a similar situation

Which I didn't...we made our insurance elections about a month before i found out about the baby, who was a little surprise. To make matters worse, the baby's due in june and I've been having enough pregnancy complications I might have to stop working early, and I'm normally not paid in the summer. Been stockpiling savings since I found out in case I'm 4-5 months without income; since I'm single, there's nobody but me to pay the bills. As far as I know, there is no funding to pay for maternity leave, but sometimes you can cash in your sick leave so that will give you some money if you have that option.

Maternity would be covered by short term disability if you bought a policy though your company's insurance provider.
