mucus plug?

ok I did post on here yesterday about spotting but only one person was kind enough to answer but I'm not sure if I'm losing my mucus plug. I started spotting brown stuff yesterday morning. Only when I wiped after using the loo. I had nothing all day then. And then I went to the bathroom in the night and when I wiped there was browny coloured discharge like stuff on the tissue. I'm 28 weeks today and I never lost my mucus plug early on my daughter so I don't no what its like. Could this be my mucus plug or could it be caused from a uti?

it also sounds like its abit of old blood which could have come from your cervix, this can happen if you've had sex as the cervix has alot of blood vessels that are close to the surface when you are pregnant, brown blood is old but go and get yourself checked out just to make sure

I would call your ob but the tightness that isn't painful are Braxton hicks contractions which are practice contractions.

I agree, you definitely need to be calling your doctor and getting looked at. Ask them if they can do an ultrasound to measure the length of your cervix and check if it's open or closed.

It could be an infection or you could be trying to go into preterm labor. Your best bet is to get ahold of your doctor or call labor an delivery.
