Zofran was literally the only thing that kept me aliveduring my pregnancy. I took it all throughout, and I had my baby girl almost a month ago. She's perfect, but I had lost so much weight, and wasn't gaining it back that my dr put me on a zofran pump. I had a constant injection of the medicine into my thighs, and it kept me functioning. I had tried every other medicine and remedie, and was down to the last resort. It is a class b drug, meaning its still being tested, but if the pros of taking it outweigh the cons, then drs will prescribe it. Thats how it was explained to me at least.

Well, maybe it is true, maybe it isn't.  This is what I think if it does happen to be true.  If you were prescribed it at very very early in the pregnancy while the baby isn't even developed yet, then while baby is developing maybe it could develop a cleft lip as well while take zofran.(this is just my reasoning for it) If you have had a 3d sono and got to see baby's face and the tech didn't seem considered then I wouldn't worry. I had a 3d sonogram at 18 weeks, 16 weeks gestation and my baby doesn't have a cleft lip and I have been taking zofran since my 10th week of pregnancy. If it does turn out that it does cause cleft lip then I would think it would be just at the very beginning, like I had previously said. One or my very best friends was born with one and it was because her mom took some sort of medicine at the very beginning of her pregnancy.

I took vitamin B-6 daily to help prevent it and took Emetrol for my nausea. Yeah I still got it but that Emetrol was a LIFE saver. They give it to infants so it's completely safe. :) idk how much help it would be since Zofran is for severe nausea, right? But worth a try lol. I hope all goes well. I'd be scared after hearing of birth defects too!

If you're worried about the Zofran, only take it when it's really bad and talk to your doctor about the over the counter nausea meds. Or B-Natal. Morning sickness lollipops!

Honestly I would use it if you need it. I know I couldn't even drink water without feeling horrible same with eating so I would just hold off on eating and would throw up from my stomach being empty. I took it for at least 2 months in both pregnancies and both of my girls are fine.
