I would appreciate any guidance here....I had a miscarriage back in Novermber of 2008.  Normal systems, cramping, bleeding, at 4 1/2 weeks.  I found out that I was pregnant by blood test on April 21.  This Monday I started spotting minimally, and the next day had my blood ran, and they said my HCG level was at 0.  Today 4 days later, my breasts still hurt, my bleeding was severly minimal....I broke down and took two pee tests this evening and they both say positive!  What is going on?  Any advice out there?  If my level was at zero in the dr's office, is it possible it is still showing up in the urine test?  Please help!!!!

i have had two miscarriages.  one of which my levels was almost 150 when i went in to the ER cuz i was spotting a litte bit of blood.  they did an ultrasound and said that i was probably going through a miscarriage and they started to take my blood every two days to see if my levels were rising or dropping.  when i went back two days later my level of hcg went from 150-126.  this confirmed that i was having a miscarriage.  your Home pregnancy test will show a pos for anything higher than a .5  so it will more than likely be positive untill just before your period returns.  im sorry for your loss.  i know how hard it can be.  best of luck to you

Any HCG level at 10 or under is considered "not pregnant". Your levels are supposed to double every 24-72 hours, so your levels should be in the hundreds, even thousands by now.

So sorry for your loss!

I have to agree with the other ladies. If you had a positive HPT at home that means your levels at that point was probably over 20 (the most sensitive tests detect an HCG of 20). And since your blood test came back 5, it means your numbers have actually gone back down, so yes, you've probably had a miscarriage. Anything below 5 is considered not pregnant.

I'm so sorry you've had to go through this. I've had two miscarriages myself, so I know how emotionally draining it can be.

Take care!

IM really sad about and so is my boyfriend, but at least  know that know i can get pregnant. Because before  we were thinking that i couldnt get pregnant.  My boyfriend still is hopeful and seems in denial. He thinks im still pregnant. I cant wait to start trying again though. the doctor said i will probably ovulate on 2/14 that would be cool

I had two miscarriages this spring - tested positive at home and negative at the dr's office after I'd started bleeding. If you were passing clots - and your HCG was 5 - then I'd say you miscarried.  One of mine I had a HCG level of 9 and was told anything under 10 is considered 'not pregnant' -sorry.
