nasal congestion

I am 20 wks pregnant have had head cold and nasal blockage to the point i can hardly breath and unable to clear with inhaling vicks over hot water etc so used sudafed nasal spray last night although it says on internet to avoid usage it was to help me breath during sleep what should i do could this have side effects on baby

And yes it could have side effects on baby. You should call you OB right away

Saline nasal drops are safe so is original strength Afrin. Never use something that is not ok in pregnancy especially since there are safe alternatives

You shouldn't take anything that is not approved or okay with your dr.  Unfortunely, when you are pregnant many things have not been tested or have been "catagorized" not safe with pregnancy.  It is miserable but you are pregnant.  Call your dr. and see what they say.  Just tell them you are miserable.

I'm not to sure what side effects they have but I was going to use them n the pharmacist Wouldnt sell it me, try A few drops of olbas oil in water that worked better then vicks for me i think it's alot more stronger
