I've been considering this one for a bit and I suppose it would be possible if the woman's bladder/UT system produced antibodies that weren't also produced in her blood...usually when a woman's tests come out negative when she's pregnant it's all the tests across the board, blood and urine. But supposing a woman's UT system alone produced antibodies that attached to the HCG and masked it....I would imagine this woman also has a low incidence of UTI or bladder infections, maybe? I dunno very curious....I've heard of it though, so I guess it's possible? I would not imagine it's very common though, to answer your question. I've only heard of it once aside from you mentioning it, and the source was not very reliable.
and if anybody else has any thoughts or comments on this issue they will be great;y appriciated
thank yall so much. yes i understand at 2 months a hpt should show it up thas wat i was asking is it poss to show neg bt actually b preg. and yes grapedutchezz, that is scary and ive heard it happens quiet often thas y i was wounderin if it was poss for this to happen n like i said ive learned nothin is impossible so i guess i was more so askin how commin it was than if it was poss. bt that all you for your thoughts. its a big help
Its possible to get a negative on a HPT but a positive on a blood test. Usually this only happens when someone is very early on into the pregnancy when HCG levels are low enough that a certain test may not pick it up. If someone has missed 2 periods, a HPT should detect pregnancy.
Not all HPT works, so if you got a positive on a blood test then your more then likely pregnant. Sometimes the HPT doesnt read your lvls proper but a blood test is accurate because of the hgc levels in your blood. It is possible :)
Yes it is possible and happens quite often. The blood test is very sensitive, whereas the urine can be diluted and not have enough hcg to be detected in your urine. I have taken multiple hpts and they have came back negative where in reality I was in fact pregnant. This has happened with my last 2 pregnancies. So your friend is not full of s***, she knows what she's talking about. Just like some women get there periods throughout the pregnancy. I knew a woman that that happened to and she didn't know she was pregnant til she went to the e.r and she was 6months pregnant!!!!! Now that's SCARY!!!!
