As for clothes the sleepers are awesome for like night changes.so definitely have those. My little boy fit in newborn clothes for about 3 weeks maybe. Hes a tall boy! so its good to have a lot that you know they can grow into. :)

I'm getting a graco pack and play also.  It has a bassinet and changing table on top that way baby can be next to you but not in bed with you.  It also has storage on the bottom and wheels with brakes for easy maneuvering.  Plays music like stated above and turns into a play pin later.  It grows with baby.  We are getting the Minnie one from babies are us!  It matches her carseat and stroller.

also, about clothes, ive been buying clothes ever since i found out that im having a girl, and in al sorts of sizes from newborn all the way up to 12 months. just dont take the tags off of the smaller clothes yet in case you have a bigger baby and comes home from the hospital in 0-3 month clothes. also, you have to take into consideration how old she'll be during which season. i had a whole bunch of summery dresses picked out for my girl in size 6-9 months then my husband pointed out that Kiley will be in 6-9 month clothes in oct-nov so summery dresses might look kind of silly. lol! i would have never thought of that.

hi there! im a ftm, 40+5 and being induced on monday night. i had no clue either what to get but luckily for me, my husband has two boys of his own so hes been thru the whole baby stage. we ended up buying a rocking/musical bassinet for next to the bed for our little girls first few months. he said that if you go ahead and get one that rocks and plays music, youre set for all of your babies preferences. one of his boys like the rocking and the other liked the lullaby it played. that way also, im close to my baby without worrying about rolling onto her or her suffocating on a pillow/blanket.  i also read that the bassinet needs to be firm and when you push on it, it should only give a little tiny bit to keep baby from suffocating. i also have invested in a couple of different swaddle wraps/ sleep sacks so she stays warm at night and comfy. i hope this helps! ive been reading and asking alot of my wonderful supportive family because im scared to death of not doing something right.

There are many types of basinettes out there, just like car seats, strollers, ect.... if any were recalled it would most likely be one specific kind and there would most likely be some kind of repair kit that is sent out to consumers who bought the basinettes... its always good practice to check in on your baby items as it is very common for recalls to happen but recalls dont mean that all basinettes are recalled by any means...
