nipple discharge/itch

basically my question is exactly like the title of this post lol...my left nipple only is having some discharge and is REALLY itchy...and shiny. idk why its shiny but it is. oh and its more brighter red than the other one. any ideas whats going on?

Hmmm. That's a good question. The cause of mastitis is normally a blocked duct, so if you were still having any sort of discharge then yes. And remember sometimes infections take a while to actually cause symptoms. It goes undected sometimes a while bc of Brest soreness anyways. I would have the doc look at it personally. Those infections can getpretty sore and nasty. Remember I'm no doc lol. But good luck Hun let me know what they say if you go to the doc

im not breastfeeding but i just had a baby 3 months ago...i became engorged and took about 2 weeks to dry up...could mastitis appear this late?

Are you pregnant or breastfeeding? Sounds like a lil mastitis, and if your breastfeeding with mastitis that's not good. Google mastitis it happens in cows but your looking for humans lol! If your symptoms match then you need to see ur doctor for meds it can cause sone nasty probs if you let it continue :) goodluck
