not stopping labor at 34 weeks??

So I just left my dr. Since yesterday I've been having constant bh and cramps and my back has been killing me . Anyway my dr. Said if it doesn't stop or gets worse then go to hospital. She said that once I'm 34 weeks in 2 days that she will not try to stop labor. So for the next 2 days she would stop labor but for some reason she won't after 34 weeks. Is that normal? I figured 37 weeks was the normal?

Some docs wont stop it after 32 weeks because the magnesium and other methods they use are hard on you and baby. After 32 weeks the lungs are mature and tey arent worried about survival just latching and sucking. This is what my doc told me as im high risk. Seems kinda silly but every doc is different and depends where u live.
