Hi there!

Yes thought so!   It isn't very nice being sick at all The yellow bile in the morning is particularly horrid.  Try having a drink of water straight after to get rid of the taste.

I found eating not long after being sick was a good time to eat as you are less likely to be sick again so soon.
I was sick morning noon and night the first three or four months it was always first thing in the morning
but I felt fine after my alpen .
If I was sick later it was usually a smell of cooking or something that did it. I would have to go somewhere alone to eat .  What I did was anytime I was sick I always ate soon afterwards to replace the lost food or I would feel even more nauseous if I was hungry.

Try eating small amounts and if that stays in have some more.

The not eating dairy is  a worry as you need extra calcium not less!! You don't want to end up with the bones of an 80year old woman with no teeth because the baby has taken it all.  Try eating salmon sarnies (with bones) and cucumber. Lots of broccolli every day.  If you still feeling sick in the second half of your pregnancy (it should ease up soon)  then you may have to see your doctor.   Hopefully you will be eating cheese on toast very soon and cereals like alpen with milk. Fingers crossed xx

I have had morning sickness the whole time I've been pregnant, I think that may be a big impact on it, and for some reason dairy products make me get sick..

There are a couple different factors involved here.

Is it normal? yes, totally. I've suffered from loss of appetite and severe vomiting of different levels with all 3 pregnancies. I'm almost 18 wks right now and barely eating as well.

Your body is usually completely capable of letting you know how much food you need to sustain your baby, so if you're not hungry but taking your prenatals and eating as much as you're capable of, you should be fine.

However, if you are on the low end of normal or underweight you will need to discuss maintenance with your doctor. I was having to drink Ensure shakes near the end of my 2nd pregnancy because I couldn't stop losing weight but my baby turned out just fine and healthy, and so did my first baby despite my lack of appetite.

Try eating more fruits and veggies, and stick to what appeals to you..you have to eat SOME stuff, but don't try to gorge yourself. Discuss it with your doctor, but most likely he'll say that as long as you're eating what you can and making healthy choices (and not losing too much weight) you should be fine :-).

Hi there

Is it because you are feeling nauseous ?  or maybe you don't want to eat incase you get sick?

I think I was definately more hungry in the second half of my pregnancy.

You don't have to consume tonnes more food than normal but maybe an extra couple hundred calories a day ,  What is important is to eat healthily.

Would you manage to drink milkshakes?  This would be a good way of getting some extra calories if you are worried you aren't getting enough.

I always used to have alpen for breakfast every day when I was pregnant .

couldn't eat fried food at all
