I bet your OB can refer you to a dietician who can help you plan out meals and all during pregnancy so you can be confident in what you eat. I have had great luck using prenatal pilates so stay fit while pregnant.

If I'm understanding you correctly, you either want to maintain or lose weight while pregnant. Even over weight women will gain weight and it's expected. It's unhealthy to diet and try to lose weight while pregnant. Your baby and body needs those calories. You can speak to a consultant who will show you what foods to eat and will help you gain that weight you need. Good luck.

Agreed!  A registered dietitian with a focus on maternal nutrition is the best way to go.  Meeting with him/her on a monthly basis throughout your pregnancy can be truly worth it to you and your growing baby.  American Dietetic Association can help you find an RD - it looks like you have three to choose from in your area with maternal nutrition expertise. Congrats and best to you!

Have you mentioned to your Dr. that you have a history of eating disorders? (I assume that's what you mean when you say you have lost a significant amount of weight in a not-so-healthy manner, if I am wrong, I am sorry for assuming). If you do/have struggled with an eating disorder, you need to tell your dr. immediately. They can aid you in overcoming the depression of pregnancy weight gain and guide you in normal pregnancy weight gain (maybe refer you to a pregnancy nutritionist). Congratulations on the pregnancy, and good luck!
