opinions *no bashing please*

Ive heard that they do drug tests on newborns and i used to be a regular marijuana smoker. I smoke at least once or twice every chance i get just about two or three puffs. Today i had three puffs and that was it and im 36w5d and its it for me, for good. My friend told me that everyone pretty much gets involved and i learned my lesson by listening. But a girl i know smoked weed on the regular and had no problems

My god sister had dcf go home with her because she was AROUND weed smoke, not even smoking & it was in her system.. they almost took the baby, but instead they tested for 24 hrs & her levels went lower. Not a good idea to smoke, especially so close to your due date.

One of my good friends smoked through her whole pregnancy. She ended up having her daughter at 24 weeks. Her baby was taken away from her for a full year. She couldn't even live in the same house as her. Then had random CPS visits for the year after. If anyone in the house had marijuana or anything hinting it, Summer would have been taken away again. Idk what the stipulations are whether it's if the baby tests for it or if you do. Reguardless, every states law is different. This is here in Texas.

If you are worried they'll test you, just don't do it? It's really not worth the risk...you don't really know what effect it's having on your baby either...

If u are worried they will drug test u then just take cranberry pills and drink a large container of cramberry juice. It will completely flush your systems before the birth of your baby.

Sorry, I got cut off before I was done.  So, I guess it will depend on your state's laws.  my state is very conservative and not only test but take action.  They also bring CPS in to do home checks to check to see if drugs are used around the house.  ??  I don't know where you live.

I would maybe be prepared if they test you and what your response would be.  Also, I'm not sure if you have a plan for after the baby.  I found parenting to be kind of a 24/7 job.  Especially when they are infants.  Before I had babies, I would enjoy a glass of wine or something but found after I had my first baby that I needed to not do that because I always worried.  What if something happened?  I needed to be fully present and ready to take care of business from driving if need be to reacting in an emergency.  So, now, I really don't ever drink or if I have a cocktail, my husband won't drink.  One of us is always totally sober.

That's just fyi.  I had no idea I'd feel that way until I had kids.  It changed everything for me.  :>)  I don't judge what anyone does and no one should.  we are all just doing the best I can. But I am just sharing what I found as a mama.  good luck

My best friend smoked until she was about 36 weeks. Her baby was fine and if the did test I guess neither one of them were positive because nothing was said.

In my state they remove babies when thc is found in the system.  It's an illegal drug here and therefore, unless a doctor has recommended it, they consider it an illegal substance.

My uncles baby mama had her baby taken away by cps because the baby had marijuana in her system! She smoked on a regular though not occasionally! If your system comes up dirty they will check the baby! So yes it can happen, && I would stop if I were you since you are close to birth!

No babies have been taken away in the US due to thc. They do test at birth but only involve cps if you have a harmful drug in your system such as narcotics methamphetamine heroin that type of thing

Im 6 weeks and I have been very very sick. I have been throwing up , not sleeping, not eating, basically not being able to be myself I can't even function at work cause I feel like crap. So I take a few puffs of weed here and there and it helps me sleep , helps me eat, and also takes my nausea away. I have yet to go to doctors . I will be on Wednesday and I will ask questions about this

The doctors test everyone who has a Baby. They test you and baby even if there is no suspicions. I would say don't smoke anymore. It takes a month to get out of your system. So hopefully it's out before you give birth.

The only way you will have a drug test on the baby is if your doctor suspects anything or the baby comes out with problems. My best friend smoked through out her whole pregnancy and her baby is as healthy as can be. But her doctor also knew and she smoked it for her seizures cause it helped her calm down before they would happen but as long as your baby is healthy at birth I doubt they will do a drug test

They take urine from you once you get to the hospital so I'm pretty sure if its in your system they'll test the baby. But it might depend on your state. Either way it wasn't a good idea so close to your due date.

It really just depends on the amount a friend of mine smoked through her whole pregnancy and they didn't say anything but she wasnt smoking everyday it was only a few times a week
