overlooking labor?

Is anyone else afraid they are going to overlook labor pains?
I'm 37 wks and dilated to 2cm and ny Dr asked if I've been having a lot of painful cramps and I told him no. He looked at me funny like I should have felt it when I started to dilate. I'm afraid I will overlook labor pains because all the cramps feel the same to me.

I was in labor almost 24 hrs before I went to the hospital with my son which worked out bc when I got there they checked, put me in a room, broke my water, waited about 1hr gave me the epidural, I took a nap for 1hr and when I woke up was ready to push and my son was born within 20 mins

I'm only like 5 min away from my hospital which is great and I'm thankful I haven't had a lot of the pains most women get towards the end I'm just nervous

I'm horrified that I will.  I want to realize whats happening early so that I can shower, shave and do my hair LOL.  I already like freak out with every little discomfort I have and then I tell myself "oh it's normal probably".. now I worry that I will do that when labor is actually starting!

I think every womans body is different, however not disregarding that contractions get painful but i have heard stories from woman that hardly felt any contractions. . If that were me, i wouldnt be complaining, haha! Im scared to death of the labor pains that are coming my way soon, who knows, i may be one of the lucky ones and hardly feel a thing till the very end(:

I can put it on everything, when its the real deal it will not be overlooked, my first time around i was dilated for a week and when labor actually hit, i knew i was like a paranoid mommy dog in pain pacing, sittting...the contractions are that uncomfortable...and youll know whwn its time to go to L &.d when you cant talk at all through your contractions!

My mom had no idea she was in labor with me. She just got lucky and her water broke that's how she knew. She was only in labor for 2 hours and I was born she said it didn't hurt at all. I'm afraid I'm taking after her I don't want my baby to just fall out lol

I'm 38 weeks and my soca don't want to check me to see if I've dialated or effaced. They keep telling me it doesn'take a diff to know if I am or not. I am also worry about that I've been having like menstrual cramps but nothing I can't handle lol. My doc said tho if it's real contractions and labor it would make my tummy really hard as hard as my forehead lol. So I'm just waiting till then because I have been having no extreme pains still :)
