pain in my belly

question for you ladies:-)

this morning i was getting ready and all of a sudden i had horrable sharp stabbing pains in my lower right side of my belly.. they would come and go, some being worse than others.. it did seem to feel a little bit better when i would sit down.. It lasted for about an hr.
I called my midwife.. and she told me it was round liagment pain.. and not to worry. Does this sound normal to you?? I am 30w1d.. thanks:-)

Bladder infections can easily move up to your kidneys and cause the kind of pain you described. The pain can be very severe but the treatment is safe in pregnancy. JUst ask your doctor for a test.

I did have a bladder infection yesterday... I have gotten them since i was about 10 yrs old... not sure what causes them. It could have do with my kidneys or the lining in my bladder..

Yes, and it usually continues until after you deliver. However, if the pain becomes more persistent you may want to push for them to test for a kidney infection. Very common in pregnancy, but would also cause pains in the side.
