Thank you ladies! Knowing im not alone helps a lot. I also have been using a TENZ unit... but nkt much is helping... im so bummed that the surgery didn't work... if anything it made it worse= [
Maybe your doctor could switch you to a pain patch or something, then you wouldnt have to worry about throwing it up. It takes about a month to fully switch over and i dont know even if its advisable at this point in pregnancy. If you were to have a reaction to the change it could be bad. Another idea would see what other forms your med comes in. Ask your pharmacist or look on wikipedia to see. Sometimes they make lozenges, maybe this will work for you. You would really need to discuss this with your pm doc and OB to see what the best option is. I had a fusion 4 yrs ago and am almost 6 weeks already experiencing sciatica pretty bad and I have chroinc pain from the failed surgeries. It's hard to tuff it out and probably more damaging then taking the med. this sounds like its the benefits outweigh the risk situation. Hope you get to feeling better! Congrats on your pregnancy!
I ad a fusion as well on Jan 9 2012 and I'm 14weeks I learned to deal with the pain since cuz I stopped taking my percocets since they make me drowsy and i cant care for my daugter if im sleepy. Sometimes i sit in the abathroom and cry from the pain and the pregnancy makes it worst but obiously crying doesn't help but sinceI refuse to take my percocets it's my only way of coping with my pain. I literally feel your pain and I wish we didn't have to go through it.
You need to talk to them. I was severely ill while pregnant too and threw up everything and was terrified they thought I was a drug addict (I was asking for medicine 3 days after my days after my appointment) but if you're upfront they won't usually be like that - especially knowing you already have back issues and are sick.
