Sounds like stretching to me. It starts to happen around that time in pregnancy since you're body is getting ready to get big for baby. :)

It could be normal but it is worth getting it checked out. To me it sounds like round ligament pain which is sharp pain especially with movement on your sides. It is your bodies way of making room for baby. But, as always, anything that you feel is not normal especially if this pain gets worse or you have any bleeding go to your doctor asap. Otherwise as far as i can tell this sounds quite normal.

Hi Kelsea,

Welcome to the Pain Mangement Forum. I am so sorry to hear that you have having pain while pregnant.

Please know that you are always welcome here however I think your post may be better answered in one of our pregnancy or women's health forums.

I don't think that sharp pain is "normal" during pregnancy. Have you had your appendix removed?

I would certainly consult your physician asap.

Best of Luck to You,
~Tuck
