pcos and pregnancy worries

Hi everyone I'm early in my pregnancy about 5 weeks I just am hoping hear some happy stories to calm my fears. I was diagnosed with pcos in Feb. Of this year and was told my hubby and myself would have a lot of difficulty conceiving (he's a cancer survivor). Well to our dismay we happily conceived. At my first prenatal visit (doc that I was 8 weeks) we had an ultrasound and they had difficulty finding our little one upon further investigation he said the baby looks to be more in conjunction to what 5 weeks than 8 and to come back in a couple of weeks to make sure baby was growing. As this is my first pregnancy I would appreciate any similar stories or any advice to calm my fears of losing this baby.

I was diagnosed with pcos in 2008 bt i was 19 so i didnt care much. During tht timecin 2009 i conceived naturally no one knew not myself. Until i passed tissues. Bt i ignored it coz i turned 20 tht yr n my life was hactic. Thn nxt yr whn i turned 21 i wanted a baby yes it was i lost about 20kgs. I took metformin 9 months and clomid for 6 months. On my last round i fell pregnant again right after i turned 22. But unfortunately i lost baby at 11 weeks in december. Baby stopped growing at 6 weeks. I was spotting on/off. Thn i did not try for a month. Thn o started taking clomid again. My periods became abnormal. I gained weight. Three periods o had compeletly abnormal. Thn i planned to loose weight. I lost 5 more kgs. I took metformin multivitamins and clomid 4 round. I kept spotting after my cycle. Whn doc did blood test he said i did not ovulate at all. So kept my diet going but missed my cycle in starting of july. Upon doing test i found out i was pregnant. I m nearly 12 weeks snd 14 weeks from lmp. I m still not sure abt baby as i havnt had ny u/s done. But i hoping everything is gd.n keeping faith.

Hi there! Well I'll be honest. After three years of not being on birthcontrol and avidly trying for a baby we went to a specialist. The doctor told me same thing take birth control and after about half a year we could try ivf. I did as the doctor said for 2 months avidly taking my birth control the way it was meant to be. But I became very discouraged wondering if I could even conceive then and discontinued my birth control figuring I could try again when I was 25 (I'm 22 now) and be a little bit more settled. So it goes without saying I did not watch my ovulation dates. I will tell you that as soon as I stopped within two months I became pregnant.

Hi there! So you had natural pregnancies? How did you know when ovulation comes? What do you do after you have kids to regulate your periods? I was told that I should be on birth control so that my period comes every month as oppose to 2 times a year..?

I was diagnosed many years ago because my period was irregular. Unfortunately, we couldn't conceive naturally because my ovuation comes and goes whenever it pleases.
We went to the clinic, I took clomid to bring the ovulation and it worked. Unfortunately, the baby never developed as we had an empty sack.
In 7 months, I went through shots to bring my ovulation and then we did IUI procedure to make sure we get a success. And it worked! I have two beautiful girls ( we had same procedure with both of them) and I am pregnant with a third baby! :)

I was diagnosed with pcos when I was 18 after my first miscarriage but now I am 23 and 24 weeks pregnant with a very healthy and active baby girl. I had the same fear and am still scared something will happen. Just stay strong and positive everything will work out! Good luck

I was diagnosed with pcos 2 years ago and was trying to start a family with my husband. We tried so hard and I even started taking metformin to try and get my insulin balanced and still no luck. I was very surprised to find out I was pregnant on Valentine's day this year. I was so worried I would lose this baby and honestly kinda prepared myself for it.. I am now 31 weeks 4 days with a healthy baby girl. I had some scares with slight bleeding even developed hyperemesis and had to have my gallbladder removed when I first entered my second trimester. I lost nearly 30lbs. And literally starved for 2 weeks in the hospital and couldn't stop throwing up. Even through all of this, my baby stayed strong. I really hope your baby will be just as strong. If you do lose it, just know it wasn't meant to be right now, but also don't become discouraged and worry too much. Whatever happens is out of your hands. Just try to stay positive and know that miracles do happen..
