period pains during pregnancy

Hi
  I"m just over 20 weeks pregnant and I"ve constantly had lower stomach pains, they are similar to period pains. This is my 2nd pregnancy and I don't recall going through this with my 1st at an early stage of my pregnancy.

I do have my 20wk  U/S in 2 days. I feel the baby kicking alot so I know its fine but was wandering why I fel the cramps more while I sit as aposed to laying back. I do sit alot as I work sitting down . Any ideas?

Thanks for your response, its a good point. I just don't remember feeling the pain as much as I do now with my first bub. But it all makes sense, thankyou.

When I get up I do feel alot better, with the amount of toilet runs I do and water drinking its easily done ;)

My legs swelled up pretty early in my last pregnancy however saying that I wouldn't drink as much water. This time around I'm going good so far.

Just a thought but maybe it's round ligament pains you're feeling. The stretching and growing of your uterus causes it and I remember about 20 weeks that's when I started really showing so there must be lots of growth at that point. Awesome that you're feeling lots of kicks and stuff! Or maybe it's just the way baby is laying because of your sitting. I'd try and get up and walk around a lot too....you don't your legs or feet to swell up or get bad retention.
