Hey im 23 weeks. And ive wanted my tongued pierced ever since i was 18 (21 now) but do you guys think that its ok for me to get it pierced? And whats the real reason we pregnant ones can't get our tongue pierced?

depends on where you live then bc in tennessee it's illegal to tattoo or pierce you if you are pregnant i know bc have worked off and on at a shop that a friend of ours owns. its dangerous and the reason you can't and are not suppose to get tattooed or pierced while pregnant is bc of exactly what tattoomommy03 told you

You can get anything pierced. Ive gotten piercings while pregnant and it all went well. It healed just fine. Also, ive never heard of a tattoo place saying they cant pierce you. Just make sure you eat really good. Plus, i went in with my belly showing.

I had mine don't not pregnant but I had it for two yrs and when I took it out for three days  it closed its worth waitin but u are grown. Live and let live.

That was a good question so I called my tattoo shop guy I get my work and peircings from. He said a pregnant woman is at a higher risk for an infection. Higher risk of the body to go into shock ( reason they tell you to eat a hearty meal before hand ) and at a higher risk for more bleeding and swelling. Anything you get done tattoo or piercing wise passes thru the body. Why you can't donate blood for a year after you get anything done. And a higher risk for HIV transmission due to immune system being low

I got my arm tattooed a couple months ago with a sleeve but it didn't hurt the baby he/she just was kicking the hell out of me it shouldn't hurt the baby

I've Had mine for almost 10 yrs it doest hurt nd I luv it lol but I'd def wait till after baby just cuz u don't want it to get infected.

i had it when i was berly 1 month prego but i lost my little ball to it so i took it off thinking it wouldnt close for one day and it did. i had done it way before i was prego and it didnt hurt to be honest it felt liike i bit my toungue just a bit but it was hard to eat though for like a week. just hurt a bit
and ive been wanting it agian but yes they wont do it when your prego
they say bacteria might go inside or something so im doing it agian when the baby is born

The tongue is the fastest healing muscle in the body, as long as you keep it clean during the weeks healing proccess i think it should be ok, stay away from foods that might inflame it and stuff.. But i dont think you will get a clean hygienic piercer to do it because you are pregnant .. Only dodgey places :/

Even if you found a shop that would do it most hospitals will make you take it out when you go into labor and it could possibly close.

U cant get it done because it speeds up your heart.its illegal for a shop to do it while prego so ull have to wait. Dnt do it yourself because if u dnt know exactly where to pierce u cld paralyze yer face.

I wouldn't bc if you get an infection there are limited meds you can use.or you might have to use one that could harm the baby.

It should be ok later (it hurts like hell though) but no place will do it while your prego because it is a open wound and won't heal properly and has more likelihood of getting infected..the same reason they won't do a tattoo on a prego lady. I had mine done and it was in for a week and i took it out because it hurt so bad..and I'm not one to not like pain i have 30 other piercings that i did my self and tattoos so yeah its something to think about

Why do you want your tongue pierced?

I personally would not allow any opportunistic infections a chance to get in while pregnant which is probably the reasoning for no piercings.
