pink discharge @ 9wks - should I worry?

I'm 9 wks pregnant with a history of miscarriages.  I'm not spotting but I've had some pink discharge and my first OB appt this week was canceled b/c they were sick so I didn't have a chance to ask.  I feel fine - haven't had any cramping or anything. Had a u/s @ 6w2d and saw a heartbeat and the baby measured at 6w2d.  I am on prometrium (200mg oral/1x a day) so my discharge is a lot from that.

The pink discharge is not consistent and it's not frequent. But it's happened maybe 3 times so far...  Just this evening. Maybe 1 or 2 times when I go to the bathroom I've got a pink glob (sorry if it's TMI). Has anyone else had pink discharge and been okay...?

Any thoughts/response are appreciated.

I'm 19 and 8 weeks pregnant, I've had a few miscarriages in the past year, but I'm sure that my body's had time to recover but it started out with brown spotting and discharge and then i started having pain really really bad in my lower stomach so i went to ER and they were no help at all. they said that it was a UTI but i've had MANY of those since i was 15. i'm really not sure what it is. but now it's turning into a pink discharge. i'm still hurting really bad, and can barely get out of the bed. does anyone know what it could be? or maybe have some advice as to what i should do?

Thanks - I was glad to have the ''surprise" u/s this week. I had one @ 10 weeks when I was pregnant with my son and was going to ask about one.  I had some brown spotting today but I did have sex last night - guess my husband is out of luck for a while!  I have an appt with the doctor on the 22nd and will ask more questions about risks of having sex and concerns with spotting.  The nurse practioner said to call with any questions/concerns - that that's why there is a 'nurse help line' at their clinic.  She was great and really reassuring.  Now I'm just hoping for smooth sailing for 30 weeks!

With all the activity I've had with the kidney stone out I had an u/s at my OB appt with the nurse practioner.  Everything looked good. I mentioned the pink discharge and she asked if I had had sex and said no that I hadn't... She didn't seem too worried about it - so neither will I!

i bled around 7 weeks..i dont know if this could be you but mine was caused by sex apparently just because our bodies are so much more sensitive during pregnancy...im sure you are fine as long as you dont have cramping it sounds pretty normal. good luck!!

No - that hasn't been on the forefront of my mind the last few days so I've even kind of forgotten about it.  I'm peeing so much blood now from the surgery yesterday that there'd be no way to tell what's what.  As you can imagine - that's adding to my anxiety/crappy feelings right now!

thanks everyone.  I was in the hospiltal yesterday to have a kidney stone removed and we heard fetal heart tones before and after surgery.  Now as a result of the surgery I had a spinal block and am having TERRIBLE headaches - every time I get up and move around. It makes  it hard to help care for my 18 mo old! Thank god my husband is understanding and allowing me to stay in bed.

About 25% of women spot during a normal pregnancy.  I wouldn't worry about it unless you are also having cramping or if you are bleeding through a pad every few hours.  If you are getting concerned you can always go to the ER.  They will take blood and give you an ultrasound.  At 9 weeks the fetus should hae a heartbeat so they should be able to tell you some information one way or another.  I doubt you have anything to worry about though.

I am a day short of 9 weeks. I have had pink discharge evry now and then. Its not red. Its weird its pink mucous like stuff. kinda stringy like. This is even before Im put on prometrium vaginal suppository. I really dont know what it is. It is only when I wipe atleast once a day then thats it. I have no cramping or abdominal pain. Now that Im on prometrium my discharhe is light brown to tan color and more than usual. I wont have an apt till Jan 20th. If you see your Dr. before I see mine will you let me know what he say. I really appreciate it.

same thing happened to me at 9 and 12 weeks and then at 12weeks they did an ultrasound and found out I had placenta previa.  That's when the placenta is covering part or your whole cervix.  The bleeding eventually stopped because the placenta moved.  But now at 32 weeks I spot every now and then, so my doc is sending me for an u/s in 3 weeks.

I'm too paranoid when it comes to any bloody discharge.  With my first pregnancy, I had some brown discharge, and ended up finding out I had a missed miscarriage.  With my second pregnancy, I had some spotting around 20 weeks and found out it was just a scratch on the outside of my cervix and our little guy was just fine.  But any sign of blood, no matter what color, I'd be calling my doctor to make sure that the baby is fine.  This is especially true if you've had a miscarriage before.

But, it is completely up to you what you feel is best.  If you can wait and see what happens, then please do.  But if not, you should give your doc's office a call and see if they can get you in asap.  Thankfully, my doc's office was great about getting me in to see the nurse practitioner an hour after I called them.  But if they hadn't seen me, I probably would have just gone to the ER.

Best of luck to you and your little bean!

The same thing happened to me usually after having a BM. I am 19 weeks now and everything is fine. Don't worry- as long as you are not cramping and it's not red blood you are fine. Just mention it to your doctor but the first thing they'll probably ask is if you are having cramps. Try not to worry - I know lots of women who have had at least some spotting and everything turned out great. Even better that you already saw the heartbeat! Good Luck!

I also have a history of mc around the same time as you.after seeing heartbeat.from personal experience, ive  contacted doctor with any sign of bleeding, yes women can bleed during pregnancy, but i really wouldnt put anything to chance, contact your midwife or doctor hun, thats what they are there for.its probably perfectly fine, but put your mind at rest.
