please help me im terrified

i just went to the bathroom, and lost ALOT of mucous.  ive been loosing it for 3 weeks so i didnt think there could be that much left, but it was alot. and it was lined with brownish color. and i looked in my pants and there was some in there too. i thought it only comes out when u wipe.  and heres what scares me, my but felt wet so i wiped my butt and theres mucus coming out of there too.. is this normal? what do i do, im scared

Ya know...I'm on my 8th pregnancy, the 6th one to make it outta the first trimester and I STILL have things come up that freak me out.  Like this time I developed a small cyst in my left breast and I have a collapsed surface vein in my right leg from the pressure from my uterus.  So even us "seasoned pros" can get freaked out :) Hopefully your little one will cooperate. You have a lot of good signs that your body is gearing up for the big day.

It's natural to "freak out" when something happens that you have never experienced before.  No need to feel bad about it.  Sending you truckloads of labor dust :)

i havnt had any mucus come out yet this morning.  Im sorry to have freaked out last night, there was just so much of it, and although i read that there could be red, pink, or brown color to it, I never had that 3 weeks prior. so when it happend i was just shocked.  I havnt had any contractions or anything.  Just slight cramping and some braxton hicks, and lil diarrhea.  i dont know i guess its possible that maybe all the mucus was from my vagina and i didnt feel it come out and it just went to my but area. i guess ill never know.. But either way, Im hoping for a baby by the end of the weekend.. So please send me labor dust!!!

I think the doctor is presuming you have a little diarrhea "from the butt" which is normal for a lot of women to get before they go into labor. I wouldnt advise sticking anything into your vagina at this point though.

I have NEVER heard of it coming from the butt either.  Try calling again today, hopefully you'll get a different nurse, see what she says.

No I used a q tip in my vagina and it was brown so theres def. dried blood, and even in the mucus that came from my vagina was brown, not all brown just like lined with brown

I have never heard of it coming out of your butt but then again I have never second guessed where it was coming from. Do you think it could have been poo??? I mean alot of time before labor you natrualy clean yourself out...............

Okay i went to the bathroom before my bath, and i am 90% sure that its coming from my butt and my vagina, and theres soooo much of it, like im not exagerating.  i called L&D and she just said its normal for it to come out of the butt, so why is it i cant find anything on the internet about it, and ive never heard of it.. can anyone help me find something, or explain it to me if you know or have heard of this

I have a friend who started losing her plug and having mucus at 32 weeks...she went on to be induced on her due date.  Mucus is a good sign but not a definate sign.  Like feather2e said, call your doc and let him/her advise but they will probably say to wait until you have more definate signs.

I have been losin my plug for 3 weeks now... and today ive lost more then i have in the last 3 weeks.  and before it was only like yellow or clear, today is the first time i lost it with a brown hint to it.  And there was so much of it!  Im really hoping he comes soon!

Like the others said dont panic.Your body is probably just preparing itself. Call the doctor and they can advise, but they are probably going to tell you to wait till your contractions are close together or your water breaks. I lost my muccus plug in globs over the course of 2 days and my water didnt break till three days later.

I walked on the treadmil, and then ate dinner, went pee and there wasnt any more on the toilet paper but i stuck a q tip up there to see, and it was brown.  So does that mean anything? should i call my doct, or just talk to a girl at L&D?

First I don't think the mucus is coming out of your butt.  It probably got squished back there from walking around.  The mucus can and will be tinged brown or pink and it can come out anytime, not just when you wipe,.  Also your mucus plug can regenerate itself if you lose it and baby is not ready to come out yet.  I had a good bit for several days before I actually went into labor with one of my boys, I had TONS the day I went into labor with another boy and NONE with the rest of my kids.  But anytime you are uncertain and need peace of mind call you doc, that's what they are there for.  Even if baby comes now you are far enough along that all should be well.  Good luck and keep us posted.

I think when in doubt, it doesn't hurt to call. However, when I was pregnant with my first I called with every question when I thought it could be nearing labor and they'd basically just ask about my contractions they didn't care much about anything else!

amanda, if you are worried call them. They will tell you what you should do and when to come in. It might make you feel better if they tell you rather than what we think:~)

I agree I wouldn't go in any time soon but I would have a packed bag ready to go somewhere and call your doctor if things start happening like I said...but I would definitely say don't head in any time soon they'll just send you home.

i just went pee again and more came out.. I have lost soo much more in the last 20 mintues then i have in 3 weeks. it was a huge glob again that was brown, and i stuck some toilet paper up there and when i pulled it out, it was brown and had mucous all over it

i had started losing my mucus plug right after an internal exam also. the exam probably just loosened you up a little bit and got things moving. i think you should definately call your doctor if your feeling a lot of pressure.

I would wait untill you start having some contractions before rushing off the hospital. With my 3rd son I had so much blood. But not with the other 3. Every L&D is diffrent. I do think things are moving along for you and just becuase you were 1.5 earlier today doesnt mean your not makeing progress:~)

well sometimes that much mucus tinged with blood can actually be "bloody show" (although it's usually brighter red, it CAN be brown). I would say walk around for a bit, and if you start getting bright red blood or contractions, call the doctor and ask when/if they want you to come in tonight. But that's a really good sign....85% effaced is REALLY good, and you can go from 1.5cm to fully dilated in a very short amount of time so to ME it sounds like you're really getting there....

it's up to you whether you call now or walk and then call, but if you have a question about whether or not this is indicative of early labor they can certainly help you.

i wiped my vagina and there was a huge glob that had brown in it, then i kept wiping and more came out. so i like squized like i was pooping and wiped my but and there was a huge glob again. and then i noticed in my underware that there was a tiny piece in there that was brown too.  this just happened like 15 minutes ago, and yes i just got checked today and i was 1.5 cm dialated and 85% effaced.  And ive been feeling wierd all day, like pressure in my but area, and some major pain shock in my but area and vagina area. should i call my doct. or wait it out or try to go for a walk to get labor going or what,.I dont know
