do any of you woman have any experience with this birth control method? how did it go?

I had it for 2 and a half years, never had any problems, just painful periods which they warn you about when you have it fitted. As soon as I had it taken out I caught straight away :) so I would recommend but that's just my opinion x

I had it placed in after I had a D&C done, and I bled for like 3 months straight. The DAY they took it out. I stopped bleeding. Apparently a lot of women can have 'allergic' reactions on the INSIDE - causing bleeding...

Some women love it, but it was soooooo awful for me! I had the one without hormones as well placed 6 weeks after giving birth to my first and I had a huge list of side effects. To name some: cramps so painful I could not stand up straight and would literally cripple me every day. It actually cut my bf's member when we were having sex, like to where he was bleeding. He said it always poked him sharply and it was extremely painful for me to do many positions we used to do with no issue. It made my periods last for 3 weeks for the whole year and a half I had it in and I only had a week in between them! Not to mention my flow went from medium to extra heavy the whole time as well. I constantly fought vaginal infections while I had it in. I either always had a uti, yeast infection, or bacterial vaginosis none of which I had to deal with beforehand either. My Dr wrote all of it off as me complaining and said to wait it out, that the first 3 months your body has to adjust. I waited for a year and a half and none of the side effects improved. I didn't feel like myself. It was affective birth control but that's only because I was either always bleeding, infected, or stabbing my bf. :( I will never get near one of those things because of my bad experience, but I have heard that it works well for some women. Good luck and don't let your Dr write you off like mine did!
