pregnancy -- the only time you can think of a food and actually smell/taste it

i am having such a hard time with the smell of chicken....its absolutely crazy and i used to love it...last night my other 1/2 made it for dinner and i was sick even after he cleaned up...i smelled chicken all night til i got up at midnight and put some vicks on the tip of my nose to help get rid of the smell

does anybody else has have anything crazy they cannot stand the smell of? i hope this goes away soon...i havent eaten any meat in almost 3 months now

You know what else turned me off?? The smell of my hubby's cologne!! It still does to this day...I'm not sure if I will ever get over it. Right before I found out I was pregnant, we went shopping and bought him this new cologne....it smelled soooo good. Now, if the bottle is near me, I just gag and want to run! lol.

I was lucky and there wasnt anything that I didnt wanna eat! lol I was loving food and I was only 8 weeks. Unfortunately I miscarried. If I hadnt' I would be right after Chantal! At 28 weeks! Who knows what I would have gone through. I'm supposed to be ovulating today or around..not sure. I dont get very much CM ever..not that Ive noticed anyways and I BD at midnight last night with my bf. I feel like he wants to get me pregnant! Even though hes said he doesnt..he knows Im not on BC and hes been all about intimacy the last week or so. So well probably BD again tonight and tomorrow haha

how far along is everybody and have you found out the sex of the baby yet?

im so impatient waiting for the u/s but i hear that this smell thing can be associated with the sex of the baby...sounds crazy so im just curious

I was the same way in my 1st trimester....It was horrible! Pasta sauce, any red meat, and also milk was just....yucky! the smell and the taste. I loved plain pasta and anyother carbs. I'm suprised I didn't blow up!! lol. Certain smells just got to me so bad. My poor husband had to try to make himself dinner (and he can't cook) most nights because I couldn't be near the stove to cook anything. I felt so bad. I am just glad I am able to eat almost anything now. Although it seems like now that I am in the 3rd trimester, no matter what I eat, I get heartburn and acid reflux. I think the 2nd trimester is the best time for eating!! lol.

Yeah, I had problems with chicken, seafood, coffee, bacon, things like that.  Those are all things I love, but NOT WHEN I'M PREGNANT!!!

i just find it amazing how much our senses are heightened...im almost 12 weeks now and wondering if this sudden sensitive smell sense is going to fade away or am i stuck with this for the remainder....

when i was preg with my son i didnt experience this at all...this time around .....all i can say is wow...everything is opposite my son...i'd give anything to have it easy like i did when i was preg with my son

I can't stand the smell of almost anything. I work in a Chinese bistro, and I used to *adore* our food there (even after I started getting tired of it from working there) but now everything looks and smells disgusting. If I have to walk into the prep kitchen where the dishwasher is cleaning off plates, I start to gag and have to run back out. It's horrible.
I just basically haven't been able to eat any sort of real meal in the two weeks since I found out.

yep I hate the smell of a deep fryer....we are southern loving people and love our fired food so everyone owns a deep fryer but I can't stand the smell of anything frying in it....Heck DH is gonna loose weight I don't start getting some fried food on the table...LOL
