pregnancy acne & yeast infection- HELP!!!

I haven't really struggled with acne since junior high. I had a little pregnancy acne with my first son during my first trimester, but it went away and my skin was gorgeous. I'm 9 weeks along in my second pregnancy and I am so embarrassed of my face right now. Not only did I recently get braces put on my teeth at age 25, but my face is breaking out and taking forever to clear up! I have been washing it twice a day with a mild bar soap, trying not to scrub it with a washcloth to make anything worse...any ladies have any advice?
Also...with my first son I struggled with yeast infections from the beginning of the second trimester on, and it was horrible! I wanted sex all the time, but my husband had an allergic reaction to the infection and we couldn't do anything for months. I had taken meds for it and nothing helped, so....is there any way to prevent them before they occur and without meds?

As for the acne, sounds like you are doing rather well. I noticed that since I am pregnant my hair and face is oilier than normal. I have switched to a normalizing shampoo and conditioner. I have also started carrying some clearsil pads with me to wipe my face with during the day. This seems to help a bunch. As for the yeast infections try some yogurt, about one serving a day.

I'm extremely nervous! With my last pregnancy nothing seemed to help clear the yeast infections at all! I gave up sugar, I used the medicine, I wore cotton underwear....it was like my bathing suit area was posessed! It's not nearly that bad yet, but I've noticed that my husband is starting to react just a little bit. He says it doesn't hurt or burn yet, but I don't want sex to be miserable for him and I crave sex while pregnant....thanks for the advice!

I too struggle with yeast infections while pregnant.  Everytime I would have sex I'd get one too.  It's like I'm allergic to my husband when I'm pregnant!!  LOL!!  I would always shower in the morning before work.  And I would only use a feminine was wash by like Monistat or Massengil (I know I spelled that wrong) that is hypoallergenic.  When I would get home from work, I would always take a bath.  Nothing long.  I'd just get in the water and sit there for a few minutes in just water.  I'd also wear only cotton underwear.  All my maternity ones were cotton anyway and that's what they recommend also.  I'm not going to say that they will go away completely, but this should help some.  It did with me and I got them quite a bit.

Good luck and I hope this helps some!!  I know that part stinks!!!

I've used these natural homeopathic pills called AZO YEAST,  I was really skeptic before taking them and I had a horrible yeast infection and I took 3 each day and the Yeast infection cleared up in like 3 days.  Not to advertise these pills but they are AWESOME.  Now every time that I feel like I might get a yeast infection I take one and it doesn't happen.  I also some times take one after sex if I get too irritated down there and it helps to heal faster.  Since you are pregnant I don't know if you can take them but they are natural herbs put into a pill so I don't think it'll be bad for you.

I've been using Sonya Dakar's acne line which seems to have calmed the breakouts a bit.  They use sulfur, tea tree oil and lavendar which is all safe during pregnancy.  I'm at the end of my 2nd trimester and my OB just prescribed me something stronger to put on my face which has benzoyl peroxide in it...it's called clindoxyl gel.  He said it's completely safe to use during pregnancy.

it seems like you have really sensitive skin so i wouldnt use anything benzoyl peroxide which is in most face cleansers you should try warm water and baking soda and maybe an oatmeal bar soap....

as far as the yeast infections there is nothing you can really do before hand but wear the proper underwear and clothes that arent too tight but with pregnancy yeast infections just happen when you get them use monistat 3 or 7

There's nothing you can really do with the acne, well moreso then you are. I know that I get a few bumps when my period is coming and that when I got pregnant my face BROKE OUT. But nothing will really help! Maybe you could find a gentle exfoliating face wash. I use an Oil of Olay wash in a purple tube. Its gentle but it gets the job done...I may be pregnant again so I will have to deal with it soon. Also with the yeast infections, I have one NOW lol I have always used Monistat but if it doesn't work for you there should be something your doctor can give you. If your hubby is allergic then yes refrain from sex but with what your doctor can give you it should clear up quickly! To help prevent them just try to wear really breathable cotton panties and keep the area as dry as possible. yeast grows quickly in warm moist areas...

I looked up some home remedies/preventions for yeast infections and this is what it gave me..and they seem kind of...weird..I don't know if I would use them but hey! lol

Good luck!
